Well done Tony on all the work you have done keeping everybody informed in the months & days leading up to this weekend. It's darn hard work & you and the team at Whanganui Stockcar & Speedway Club are to be congratulated for once again showing that the "small" clubs are quite capable of hosting these major titles.
Awesome. Just awesome.
Roger Morrison.

Totally agree, the work that Tony put into making this championship a successful promotion was extraordinary and much appreciated . Did a great job on the race calling too. A man of many talents.

Awesome. Just awesome. Roger Morrison. Cheers for that Roger. It's been a true team effort, where for the most part everyone had a defined role and stuck to it. My role was publicity, and publicity on a budget. I've spent far too much time on social media and Macgors in the last few weeks, but it seemed to do the trick. My other pre-event role was ticket presales, and we had ONE seat unsold out of 1080 for the temporary grandstand, as well as significant numbers of GA presales.A few people had stryggles with the Eventfinda website, but for what we paid in fees, it was value for money. To have set up our own ticket selling system would have required hours and hours of work, and significant cost. That was a no-brainer. The WSSC has been working towards this for well over 18 months, and our lives are going to be a bit empty from today onwards, but as you say, we've shown that a small, committed club can do amazing things when everyone pulls in the same direction. Good luck to Greymouth for the NZ Stockcars next weekend!

Barry - it's hard to get swell-headed when you spend a weekend in the company of people like Mintie and Ramjam, or Stockcar people in general. They pull you into line pretty quickly, which is good for everyone!

The work you put in, obviously along with many others, has paid off big time for the club you are so proud of. I say if your hat is a bit small now then yr better off buying a bigger one than talking down the praise. Your publicity gave ppl (racers & crew as well as spectators) confidence that they were going to arrive at an event that was well organised. If you can get ppl arriving in a positive frame of mind, that's half the battle won.
