Just putting it out there, I'm not saying at all that its rigged but I'm confused as to how the seeded teams were placed. I would have thought 1st and 2nd place from last year would have been in different groups...?? Top 4 from 2019 1st Glen Eagles - 7 races between each 2nd Hawkeyes - 5 races between each 3rd Wildcats - 7 races between each 4th Panthers - 5 races between each It seems weird that a team that came home 3rd in 2019, gets a bigger gap to repair cars than a team that finished 2nd... !!! Very true I think they buggered that up a bit. Hawkeyes loose out in that setup

Yip seems the Promotors have used the seeds to suit themselves. You'd expect last years 1st (Chch) and 4th (Panthers) placed teams on one side and the 2nd (Hawkeyes) and 3rd (Wildcats) on the other. Other sports would manage something so simple, not this promotion. You'd understand if the seeded teams were drawn at random 'live'. Not rigged at all.

14 Teams makes it hard to do a draw like this, 12 or an odd number of teams makes things a bit fairer to all. From what I can see Mustangs do not face a seeded team at all this year, but everyone else faces a seeded team only once. As for the races between each; Allstars 6, Busters 5, Eagles 7, Giants 5, Hawkeyes 5, Kings 7, Panthers 5, Rebels 5, Lions 7, Scrappers 5, Wanderers 7, Warriors 7, and the Wildcats 7. Not saying its fair, but when there were only 12 teams, 8 of those 12 only had 3 races between each race. If anyone can come up with a fairer draw I am all ears, but for now this is what we got....

Wellington have a big gap now whereas Hawkes Bay get a smaller gap. And B have to race K. B and W should have been swapped but at the end of the day it definitely doesn't favour the Panthers as they only get a 5 race gap to repair cars.

So how do they work out the night 2 finals ? Top 4 on Points after night one advance to Tier 1. Next 4 (5-8) on points advance to tier 2. Rest go to the consolation. Tier 1; 1 v 4, and 2 v 3 on points, winner to grand final, loser with highest points from these races to race for 3rd, loser with lowest points from these races for 5th. Tier 2; 5 v 8, 6 v 7, highest winner on points from these races to race for 3rd, lowest winner on points to race for 5th. The losers are into the consolations. Just to clarify, is it the Top 4 point scorers that go to Tier 1 or is it the Top 2 from each group?

After the 14 races, all teams will have an amount of points against their names. The team with the highest amount of points overall is ranked 1, lowest is ranked 14. With 14 teams there is no such thing as groups, only when there is 12 can you split them into 4 groups of 3.

Without being 100% sure maybe the seeded teams should have been 3 6 9 12 not 3 6 10 13, this may have meant gaps between races may have been the same?

I’m pretty sure it’s the top 4 from each group go thru to night 2, with the top 2 from both groups in the tier 1 semis and 3rd & 4th from both groups in the tier 2 semis.

After looking at other options for doing the draw, most show advantages to one or two teams regardless, so generally happy with what it is and really hope no team that wins 2 Races misses out to a teams that had a loss due to points.

until they simply write the teams names on pieces of paper and draw them out of a hat or box it will always be rigged. The practice of drawing out a number and then matching it up against a team not already disclosed is not fooling anyone. Palmy will have either Auckland or Waikato in there group and the draw will have already been made up. Well done Bruce.

Maybe you are actually Bruce in disguise and have had us fooled all along ? Nice one Bruce ! Using Beachboy to stoke the fires and sell more tickets. Brilliant marketing ploy that man

This is how it’s shaping up for the giants or the kings or both how many will actually get over the line in the final tally , it was quite funny watching Bruce’s face during the draw when palmy drew the poms then the giants and kings lol

Of course Kings, Giants, and Hawkeyes are matching each other. How else do you get rid of the best teams to make it easier for Panthers to qualify. Too darn obvious

May as well just copy and paste the thread for the draw from any of the last ten years and save people some typing, and a couple of days.
