How can you have two cars and be registered to two tracks. Just interested.

Is this a confirmed list? Also which format are they using please? I am not the class rep for this event as they have their own team so cannot confirm numbers or format - but I do have reasonable confidence that we will get the vast majority of those listed. Format I believe is time trials - heats and a feature.

The M car to the best of my knowledge is a Cowling owned ProX...so is the car track registered under Peter Dickson or Cowling Motorsport? Hopefully someone in the know will put us straight. Anthony

Format I believe is time trials - heats and a feature.[/quote] I would be interested in seeing if this unpopular format is used next week in front of a huge crowd of stockcar fans . after the goodwill earnt over the last few years at the teams champs, it would be a shame to see that capital wasted. if I want to see one car drone around a track, I will go back to manfeild...

With the minimum amount of seating now available at WP it would be disappointing to be squashed in like sardines to watch time trials instead of shoot outs. You have over the years provided the best show in town for the class, tweaking the show is all good but not at the expense of entertainment value. If I want to watch time trials I'll take a deck chair down to a set of traffic lights and watch the cap facing backwards brigade taking off in their pop off valve Jap machines.

Is this a confirmed list? Also which format are they using please? I'm with you on that one too Gordon. Their time trial format will not entice me along to watch them on Saturday night. Their alternate format will. It's quite simple really. One format is for the drivers. The other keeps the spectator in mind. Hopefully Grant can confirm like he did earlier in the season. Barry B

I think the BK always runs a slightly compressed format that weekend anyway, which works out good. Barry B

This format is the very reason I won't be trackside. Big grids bring big crowds. This is NZ not America.....get em on the track with a full grid, now thats racing. Fastest off the front is what makes Formula 1 into Formula Procession. Leave the time trials to the tarseal tuggers.

OK....my take....The time trials are used to "seed" the cars so each of the 3 groups is reasonably fair. Each car will then get a front and a reverse start in 2 of the 3 heats...It will not be a procession in the heats. The Saloons have been running the 3 heat system a lot this year and the smaller fields in the heats mean more room on the track to allow more passing and less damage so hopefully all cars make it to the feature.

They used time trial two heats, fastest to front for first heat then invert for second. Worked pretty well finishing with feature. Ran into some kiwis who drive past there local they haven't been to in decades on way to airport several times a year.

So as i take it 3 groups with 21 cars competing = 7 in each group ,hardly a spectacle of good racing ,certainly the crowd deserves better ,I suppose Bobby the Bobcat will give a demo drive just to spice things up and please one or two loyal fans ..

Midway....21 cars split into 3 groups would mean 14 cars on track for heats...I consider 12-14 to be an ideal number for good racing....enough room for cars to get their elbows out, and also make the track look nice and full. Too many cars and there is not enough room for the mid pack and cars at the back to get their speed up until they are all spread out (3 laps or so into the race). 14 cars means they can start racing right from the back straight.
