Is now the right time to ask how much better this championship would be if they had a third round of qualifying then the top 4 go thru to semifinals?
Yip thought so.

Oh Right I see. Nelson in the consolation races too. All three teams chch, Nelson and Gisborne will face each other in a 2nd tier race. Each races each twice. Races are for points and the team with the most points at the end wind the 2nd tier competition. In program it states 9 vs 11 10 ve 11 9 vs 10 For championship 1vs 8 3vs 6 2 vs 7 4 vs 5 Hope this helps

Thanx for that.
A bit of practice for the teams but not much kudos ( and probably a lot more damage) for 9th overall.

Burmeister Motorsport: "The team worked hard and got a new manifold and all the gear on for the 2nd race but unfortunately some internal damage was done so out she comes and a new one in tomorrow! The boys drove awesome and got the win again so we’re in the finals! Massive thanks to all that pitched in and helped and to Csl for helping out with a new one for tomorrow."

The official Quarter Finals for tomorrow night are
Race 1 (1) Wellington vs (8) Meeanee Race 2 (3) Palmerston North vs (6) Rotorua Race 3 (2) Waikato vs (7) Stratford Race 4 (4) Kihikihi vs (5) Auckland
Winners of races 1 and 2 will meet in semi final 1. Winners of races 3 and 4 will meet in semi final 2. Waikato and Palmerston North were equal 2nd after qualifying and both chose to finalise positions 2 and 3 by a coin toss which Waikato won. The same happened between Rotorua and Stratford for the 6th/7th qualifying placing, a coin toss was done and Rotorua won so place 6th, Stratford 7th.

Is it points or first past line? Thanks Tonights racing for any top 8 races will be first past the post direct knock out racing. The lowest ranked losers in the quarters will race for 7th/8th, the higher ranked losers in the quarters will race for 5th/6th. Each teams ranking after qualifying is in the brackets in my above post. These rankings are based on each teams finishing position in qualifying. Points will be used in the 2nd tier races between Canterbury, Tasman and Gisborne to find the winner of the 2nd tier. These 3 teams will race each other once meaning 3 races in that tier.

Why so many colour clashes ,that Pumas v Maulers race must have been a very hard watch ,as well as Gisborne v Christchurch , and then tonight Auckland v Kihikihi.
