In an article in latest dirt track mag written by Percy see Shane Alach has retired and Ryan Baker is now in the driving seat. My many visits to W/S , have always been highlighted by the no 11 car basically from day 1 of his racing career. Shane is like the warriors, don't know what turns up until unleashed. Still recall the big incident at WP when the throttle jammed open and he flew over the fence, hit tow vehicles and landed in the pits. The eerie silence after this till the announcer said he was ok. Thanks for the memories Shane, a true legend.

Always been a firm favourite. Would love to have seen him in a sprintcar, but would probably be as scary as he could be when on the mike. Great career dude.

Ryan Baker has certainly got a good mentor behind him ,moving into this class ,but was a good racer himself showing lots of scope to move forward as a youngster Shane got a good send off ,but was shadowed a little by a unfortunate event on the night ,never the less he will be missed on the track ,but we no doubt will see that face in the pits enjoying the sport and the entertainment it provides .... ..

I have a feeling that Shane may have done some wingless Sprintcar racing in the States back in the day, unsurprisingly not shy of the loud pedal and spectacular to watch.

Just reading a 1993 dirt track mag, , Shayne alach began racing midgets in the 93/94 season and won his first ever midget race at the springs on grand opening night,I thought that was pretty cool.
