A mask is good to wear ,if your ride a motor cycle with a chrome plated helmet ,dirty dog shades ,and wish to cruise the open roads heading for your favourite speedway track .

Well is it hard to escape the clutches of covid -19 Apparently not as i found this morning going to visit a few friends of a older age than myself ,giving them a assurance that life still goes on and enjoying a chat while watching the old fella in his beloved vege garden .. Do we honestly abide by the rules apparently no Fulton & Hogan having what looked like there tool box meeting in a metal pit miles away from the status quo enjoying themselves in the morning sun .. Not a care in the world as the echoing sound of the bikes well designed exhaust system went passed the likely lads in there patrol car on the side of the road .Pulling into the Caltex service station in the town of Dagaville was a bit like Queen Street ,everyone chatting together certainly not 6ft apart ,i was hoping for a lens pie my wish went out the door ,so good old gingernuts were on the menu ,and as i pulled out placing my chromed helmet on and my mask the likely lads pulled in ,good morning they said ,enjoy your day ,and with a clap of thunder we headed home no not observing the speed limit that much ,but trying too

With 45 cases this little town has the second largest cluster in NZ. The first week the locals were all abiding, though it seems to have cooled down now. Its Saturday afternoon, its glorious weather and the volume of traffic both bi pedal and motorised has risen astonishingly. No ones looking, so no one gives a feckk it seems, maybe it because the farmers have had their fair share of chicken disease, foot and mouth disease, etc, seen it all before possibly...but its not what the Lady PM had in mind when she said stay home ...

You mean 54 cases here in Matamata The Matamata case to me is a good reason why the lockdown was necessary to contain the spread. If reports are correct 1 infected worker now has spread this to 54,[remember this is only of those tested, how many untested], so carry on with same scenario if those 54 ea infect 54 the total then goes to 2916 starting from 1. Scary no's so those of us who obeyed rules of self isolation we hopefully dodge the bullets but who have we been in contact with unbeknown to us before lockdown that carried infection. Speedway one of fortunate sports, came at end of season, most of the over paid professional sports their season either just starting or about to. Business's on brink before this will take opportunity to blame the virus on their collapse. Now that the govt appointed virus task force committee coming to grips with their task every move the govt make under scrutiny plus people from within and outside government can be questioned. Hopefully this weeks Ministry of Health recommendations don't enforce any or at best only small extension to the lockdown. Brm Brm next season only 6/7 mths away.

According to the latest reports there is a shortage of CONDOMS for those who use the rubber boot So when you think its all doom and gloom and the fish & chips shops are shut there is something always good to come out of Covid -19 some more Speedway youngsters on the rise

If there's one thing that spreads faster than the virus it's panic, and that panic is generated and perpetuated by the absence of rational thought.
Take for instance the "Matamata 54", for that's what we shall call them. A bar on Paddy's Day, how many people could have been there during the course of the day; easily ten times that many. Which means the majority of people that were potentially exposed to the virus DIDN'T get it. Calculating exponentially from that number of 54 is a perfect example of what I referred to in the first sentence of this post!!!!!

But there is least two lines of rational thought. 54 of the potential 540 got it rationally meaning a 10% strike rate. But how many were tested, 54 that we know of, all positive. That's a rationalized 100% strike rate if ever there was. Its all in the eyes of the rational or irrational be-holder God Im BORED:)

Its all in the eyes of the rational or irrational be-holder God Im BORED:) No panic in my 54x54 scenario Empurc, just doing figures how the it can spread if spread at same rate as original, why would the possibility of different rate of spreading be different . Bernie has logical explanation in his post of strike rate. No Midway didn't have an ale at said watering hole. I did do deliveries to Matamata 2 days after Paddy's day at which stage myself, the town and nation were not aware what was brewing there. As deliveries were in main street people as every day wheeze, sneeze and breath all around you. Since Matamata have done multiple deliveries in Tirua, Cambridge, Hamilton, Te Awamutu, Kihikihi, Otrohanga, Pirongia and South Auckland plus work depot reloading. Weekend went to Naki, with stops and or meals at Te Kuiti, Ngaere, Eltham, Hawera,Stratford, Inglewood and Okato[ oh the cheese midway]. As can be seen I'm just 1 who could of picked up virus and spread to many. On the Sun level 2 was actioned and as in the 70+ group haven't worked since, but look at trail of disaster I could of innocently left behind . Have only left my bubble to get flu jab but holy hell what trail of expansion of the virus I could of set off like hundred of thousands of others.

After reading that script of events ,i will write a submission to Dr Bloomfield suggesting you qualify for quarantine of complete isolation ,without any further questions being asked Thank heavens we love Blue Vein cheese manufactured and kept in storage like a good vintage wine to eat with our honey sweet pickled onions that no virus could with stand the pressure of combustion at times and delivered with the greatest of ease ...

Being raised in the Naki I like to think the Blue vein cheese build's up antibodies in our immune system so our body is able fight off all sorts of viruses, and with their DHB figures being 14 I think I may be on to something. Also used to put a substance called Ethamol on cows teats to stop cracking and infection, these days changed the E for an M [ play on words] and we have race fuel, ha ha. Never far from speedway, in Hawera McDonalds[ YES they were doing all the wipe down procedures] at the table next to our grandsons 5th birthday party was a guy wearing a Wanganui warriors stockcar teams T shirt and it would be rude to not acknowledge a fellow speedway family member. Grandson had introduction lessons of 1x 2hr session per wk at the school for a few weeks prior to turning 5, 1st session his 1st words were to the teacher, what time is smoko, apple hasn't dropped far in the family tree. Not a conspiracy theorist that the virus spread by 5G towers, the only thing I know that was spread by ph lines was gossip, especially by the exchange operator who connected your call and could also listen in. As a young buck, it was always wise to never ph a young male operators ex girlfriend while he was on duty unless you were happy to have heavy breathing as a back drop. Midway when you write to Doc Bloomfield can you request that I'm quarantined in one of the camper vans that they have at the ASB showgrounds. Last time I was in a camper van was following the international rally back in the 80s when it was a day/ night event. I could quite willing lie in there at their expense and reminiscence the past and flit lockdown time away.
