Hi all wanting some advice on best bang for buck performance upgrade.
Either highrise block approx ($850ish)
Or a camshaft regrind ($250)
Engine is fairly standard au block with a 3.9 head with some port work but standard cam.
Any help is appreciated cheers Tim 64s stockcar

Cam. Throw a vernier gear on it with the change and get it dialled in on a dyno by someone who knows what they're doing. Then if you change anything else on intake or exhaust you've got your bases covered.

Cam.
Big carb last to get the most out of it
My buddy got a v6 cam grind from Franklin cams and it was awesome for his package and he was stoked for cash invested and performance gains
Not sure if same for a falcon but no doubt a conversation with a cam doctor will help 👍

yeah, if your contemplating buying the hi rise for 850, then buying the cam at 250 should be a no brainer because you would still have 600 left toward the hi rise. Anyway the cam is what you really need, theres no point trying get more air thru the motor till it can do something with it..those hi rises, all they do is give the air and fuel more time to mix and to "straighten out" by that i mean lose a lot of turbulence on the way down increasing flow..thats my understanding..oh and a lot of that is the carby too, the carb and the hi rise are two separate things to buy...If you buy a cam, are you intending to increase your compression, a cam guy may tell you this grind needs 10-1 compression, that can be expensive work.. Maybe someone will elaborate
