Is that Abrahams sitting in the Grandstand? No, thats Nicola and Glen my driver and assistant, I joined them with Ian on the 2nd night.
Why were you allowed up there?
To photograph the event.

boom lift down the back is replacing all the bulbs in the towers. Good to see it all happening and with the new light bulbs in place ,there should be never a dull moment ..

Future is looking bright for Waikaraka Park. This thread has bee quite illuminating tanks to those that have contributed. Sounds like the spectators are not being left in the dark.

Lets hope the Promoter can bring together shows that fill those seats for the benefit of all . Oh on your Face book page it stated that the club has to raise funds for a more permanent fixture ,so i take it the good olly old council wont be dipping into its pockets ,or any other future plans are on ice ...

It was awesome to finally walk into WP again seeing the pits full of cars and then to take a stroll around the track and all the work that has gone on over the last few months with old grandstand coming down and the new Temp stand in its place. The height and viewing from the stand is bloody awesome and such a welcome addition to allow more people in to enjoy our sport. With the subtle changes of seating on the back straight now allowing for more families and people to sit on the grass embankment is awesome to...
There is certainly excitement in the air after the season was cut short and COVID-19 affecting us all in 1 way or another we are now less than a week away before getting our fix of noise, speed and rubbing is racing.
Lets give COVID the 1 finger salute and give our sport and racers a place to race for decades to come by filling WP with spectators and getting our upgrade of our track and amenities in the near future because bums on seats will help us especially if the key decision makers make a visit to WP and see that its full and we belong here.

Just an update for everyone who took the time to make a submission to Auckland Council.
Today they sent out an email notifying everyone who responded through the web site process about a hearing process to take place on November 9 and ask everybody if they want to be a participant and present evidence at the hearings.
If you have received this email and want to speak at the hearings by all means go ahead, but if you supported the proposed plans you don't have to - the more people who request a hearing the longer the process will take.
It is an interesting process and if you want to be involved you will need to keep your verbal and written submission to the topics listed in the Reserve Management Plan or the Masterplan and any comments you previously submitted - you can't present anything new.
ASSCC representatives will be attending the hearing and making a formal submission in support of both the Reserve Management Plan and the Masterplan.
