Finally. someone else see's that the Rees "tanks" an't tanks but plated spacies, ever have been tanks, never will be. A true tank is a monocoque chassis built from plate. And it isn't even red with a down the middle Ford engine and front mudguards, gee whiz it's even got power steering. Miles off the original. a tank is a tank it's just Peter Rees version of a tank one of the best stockcar/superstock builders in the country just because it's not a full poded plated car doesn't mean to say it's not a tank,If that's the case then my tank that was originally built by kp tank no9 it now has no pods in the side rails and out riggers is it not a tank anymore

I just cant help thinking that some just show too much of the green eyed monster and would really feel too much pain to give credit where credits due.

No one on this thread has said that the Rees designed cars were not capable or good at what they do, so there is no hint of the green eyed monster at all. All that has been said is that when you look at the construction of these vehicles they are not anywhere near the "correct" type of predominantly plate construction - therefore not a tank, merely a good car that is tank look a like. If i built a car with one main chassis rail, then angle up outriggers etc, would that make it a space frame? How about i build one with 2 x frame rails, but make it nice and low etc, is it then a tri-rail? You can make a car look however you like from the outside, but the construction method determines what bracket it falls in to, not its external look. Lynchy, your car was built predominantly with plate, if you keep cutting it away and replacing it with RHS then yes you will get to the point where the best you could say is "it started life as Tank #9, but isnt really a tank any more". Single cassis rail - flat chassis 2 rails - space frame 3 rails - tri-rail plate construction - tank combinations of 2 or more of the above - hybrid? its not that complicated really

To be more accurate it is in fact a Rees Version Tank , because it is not a space frame nor is it a flat chassis . Lynchys car was built a tank and still is a tank , because it too is not a space frame or flat chassis . I bought the 19s Peat built tank , it had been altered with outriggers and siderails , unless you looked under the panels you wouldnt know any different , but at the end of the day it is still a Peat Tank. Me Precious , NO , more the case of you liking to make yourself sound an expert.
