Tank 1NZ Peter Rees I liked this blue colour Peter Rees had on his 10p Superstock 16th November 2013 The same night Jack Miers debuted his brand new Tank, this is the interior. Tony Hardacre with the Tank he built for Josh Kahui. Josh got spun up then hit hard side on while stationary by Peter Rees and broke his leg in the crash. The kinetic force involved in the impact was so great that it bent the spout of the fuel tank. One of Scotty Miers new Tanks with a new engine. After Robert James put the ex 2p Cobra engine into the 14p Car that Elvis Rowlands owns now he built this, his last car. Stand by for a great deal more on both Robert James Tanks version soon, from a guy I went to school with. If anybody in the lower North Island has a Morris 8 body they'd like to sell to go onto the 14p car that Elvis is restoring now please message me. This is 11p Brendon Rees and the spirit of Stockcar racing 39p Graeme Munn. A couple of seasons ago Graeme told me that his engine was stock standard straight out of car at the wreckers and cost a total of $250. He said he achieves his goal every time he drives out pit gate - to have fun, and he races a Tank at the soon to be greatest speedway facility in the world. Good on ya 11p and 39p

Iβm loving whatβs happening here
The original Tank recognised as the starter, however all tanks being celebrated.
And super fitting that KP and Rees Race Cars are still building new versions of tanks for the coming season.
Great to see all the images of what is truly a legendary design that was so far ahead of its time in its first iteration, and has lasted through the decades to today. To plate or not to plate it not the question - the intent is the answer.
5 decades. Absolutely amazing
Thanks to all for the photos

Tonight we had a brief live chat from my office with 175p Tank Commander Sam Prescott about his new car and his goals and sponsors, and a few other things. Sam's new car was formerly raced by Peter Rees as 1NZ but its not the car he won the NZ title in, it's his next car and the first off-set Tank he built. If you have any history or photo's of this car we'd love to see them in the comments. Thanks heaps in advance. Sam has kitted the car out with pretty much new everything including quality products from Fast Lane Spares in Palmerston North, and a fully worked V6 Holden engine from KB Race Engines in Cheltenham. Sam was 6th driver for the Demon Palmerston North Puma's this year and his number one goal is to make the Pumas starting line up this coming season. Winning races will be great, but winning the crowd and impressing the selectors is Sam's main mission. He spends hours with his Dad preparing the car and has an extensive supply of spares for the upcoming mayhem. Good luck bro. Sam has won plenty of races including an impressive win at the coveted Robin Pratt meeting last season. Sams son Leighton loves being around the car and is Sams #1 helper. Sam is extremely grateful to have the support of his loyal sponsors who support his mission to bring us pleasure, including: Scott's pumps and mowers Weekend craft Wayne Aldridge contracting Giant oils Professional fleet services Jason ashcroft - Harcourts Atd services Advanced panel an paint Spackys bar Fluid detail Kenley brown designs A.Allison construction Evans general engineering Go Slideways TV Check out the live stream on Go Slideways TV on facebook, sooner or later with the speed technology is progressing I will probably be able to live stream from my camera to here one day, not my phone. 50 years of Tanks this year, I'm sure Sam will do the history proud and do business. Best wishes - Sam Prescott Tank Commander 175p Here is the live stream chat with Sam tonight:www.facebook.com/goslidewaystv/videos/764072237725961Tonight Sam asked me and was pleasantly surprised at how many people had watched his video about his new Tank and his sponsors on my Go Slideways TV facebook page. Thank you to everybody who tolerates my intrusions and shares their stories with us all. My shakey little video's get quite a lot of views, so I'll ask Duane Horne how to use the gyro thing I bought off e-bay properly. I try to post as many pics of as many competitors in as many classes as I can - the numbers below are during the month of July, during the season they generally double and go through the roof around Teams Champs time. I'm sure other sites have much bigger views, but I just thought these figures might be of interest to you and useful to show your sponsors, especially if you compete at Palmy. Good luck to you all. Cheers, Pete Nathan Robertson raced Sam's Tank after he bought it off Shane Hurliman

Does Justin Roberts still have his beautifully presented ex Rees tank? Always seemed to have a bad run both mechanical and wrong place /wrong time on the track. For what he must have put into it I hope he will persevere with it, and get some results. Was one of the best presented cars I always thought.
