So with Bill having Bay Park, does this mean F2 midgets go to Bay Park & Six Shooters from Wacky Park come to the Springs

Six Shooters need to go down in history as the class that did not survive the China 19 virus. No No NO to bringing them back to Waikaraka. End of story.

Still better than bang bang stockcars 😂, and still faster than those taxi’s they race out there, think they even beat the lap times of Super Galoons haha

Bill and Bruce worked together before.
Though international series unlikely this season it opens the possibility next season of a round of the midgets in Palmy and maybe even Meanee

Would have thought springs sits more people than Palmy and doesn’t sell out Iam pretty sure teams champs would beat the crowd numbers over the two nights mentioned ,the only big crowd numbers are when concerts play there and a rock & roll pensioner B Brown no doubt would be more wise to crowd numbers ,than a blues player that enjoys going to the Albert Hall ...

Was once told that the terraces at Western Springs, when every tier was occupied and all were sitting shoulder to shoulder, has a maximum capacity of 9000.
Didn't believe that for a minute, always thought it was way more; so one day I set out to prove who was right. Paced it all out, took into account the reduction of rows as you go round both bends etc etc and guess what.................9000 it is.
Now we all know that no-one sits right down the front and in the "mud zones" on the corners so even if the banks in the old days, and the new terraces now were chocka-block, you get the feeling that the reported crowd numbers have always been a bit "generous"
Arena Manawatu, depending on configuration, can hold around 20 000 people. Every year it is sold out for both nights so there's really no argument as to what the biggest meeting is.

We say how long will they last. Not long lol.

I see more as someone who is obviously guttered to not be the successful applicant. Regardless of your personal opinion of Bill Buckley he has spent an large amount of his time and money fighting for Western Springs, he has always spoken his mind and it has not always been PC. Unfortunately over his time battling with the RFA and Council he has probably rubbed some people the wrong way and at some level they have decided that they would rather deal with someone else. Not to take away from Bruce Holden who would have put forward a strong bid and has a good track record, involving other parties such as Speedway NZ gives me confidence that there was a sound decision making process and that the council maybe turning the corner and starting to look at acting somewhat in the best interests of the sport. I am under no illusions that the only reason speedway isn’t still at Western Springs is the fact that the council do not have the money for any of their “pie in the sky” stadium realignment plans, Covid may well have, in a roundabout way, secured the speedways future for a little while yet.
