Social distancing if that was bought in ,how is that going to be regulated at the teams event s or any other grand stands etc ,i guess you have to be a metre apart ,and small gathering s
i guess that may not be a problem at Wacky Park :)but other venues will find it hard with bigger crowds.
There was a Rhodes Scholar down country that drafted up a plan that showed clearly how to avoid such mass gatherings in one group and was seeking authority from Dr Bloomfield on the matter ...
As it has been pointed out there is a lot at stake if the speedway season doesnt kick off according to plan ,peoples lively hoods at stake ,the list goes on ,but we have to face up to reality it could be a lot worse ,and dont forget there is alot of sponsors who are having tough times like small businesses ,this season may not turn out to be much in the way we have had it over the past years ,so stick to gether folks lets hope better times are around the corner ..

If you can get the season started and maintained up to that point (Teams) then you can worry about what protocols that need to be in place at that time.

The government are using the word 'gathering' & haven't used the word 'event'. A gathering can be a group of people kept seperate from another group, so do we say only 100 (or whatever the gathering limit is) allowed to attend a speedway event, or do we look at segmenting the venue into seperate groups with seperate toilets, probably no food sales, a security person assigned to each group that ensure nobody jumps the boundary as well as takes there contact info, etc, etc,. I don't believe a group of 100 dart players inside a pub is the same as 100 speedway patrons in a 5 acre outdoor venue.
As mentioned on another now deleted post, I'm sure those with vested interests have already thought of this. As for the teams champs, fingers crossed things have improved by then.

With your drafting experience on small, or gatherings ,you have made a excellent Herdsman in the highland s The biggest gathering at the teams event will be finals night with the Midgets on the card  |

Like I said, I’m sure others had been thinking along these lines, but if they haven’t……..
- We know the virus is best spread indoors in cooler conditions, probably because the virus which has a lipid based outer layer encapsulating air at 37 degrees C when it leaves the body, meaning if the ambient temperature is less than 37 degrees with no wind (as well as no useful germ killing UV light indoors), then the warmer air within the virus will tend to make it hang in the air longer (hot air rises, think hot air balloons). What this means for speedway at this point in time, meetings ought to be held during the day when there is a presence of UV light and warmer day temperatures will tend to make the virus head to settle hopefully on the ground faster.
- If the virus has a lipid based surface (we know this because soap will destroy the covid bubble) then there is a likely relationship between having a higher or elevated cholesterol level and getting a worse case of covid. What this means for speedway, suggest to patrons they ought to get cholesterol test (quick easy test) and either stay home or take extra care with masks etc. to avoid getting it in the first place, if you are in the higher range. It is entirely possible the disease will manifest itself more easily when the blood cholesterol is higher, as the cholesterol will give the disease the building material required for it to grow. Problem here is the vast majority of speedway patrons will have high cholesterol. It may be entirely possible that the cure for this disease may come from blood filtration/cholesterol separation rather than drugs being developed, we will have to leave that for our experts to figure out and think of those ideas though.
The biggest problem running speedway at present, and potentially having multi gatherings would likely come from the media, so any attempt would need to be well publicized, by knowledgeable individuals having fool proof plans, and there is the problem, a lot of fools around. You would only get one shot with something like this.

In addition to obese and overweight speedway fans making a concerted effort to lose weight as I assume your recommendation also strongly encourages, may I also suggest stocking up on a few vitamins as suggested below, and particularly also a nebulizer. BTW, high colesterol isn't necesarily an overweight thing, there are some races with a genetic predisposal to high cholestrerol, I thinks its more a kidney function thing which might explain older people with older kidney's get hit pretty hard. In New York, most of the deaths were of African Americans, who likely have that genetic predisposal to higher cholesterol. I'm inclined to think the more we konw about what is going on, the hysteria will die off. |

And here i was thinking i only suffer from a Speedway fix ,When Dr No PHrill pops out of the register ,giving advice on everything most suffer from in our enjoyable retirement age ,and now a senior lecturer on everything and anything that life can create ,A Knowledgeable chap in deed ...
Speedway i thought was a relaxing place and those who you met and made friends from enjoyable ,but i will head off to the galley to cook up some bigger bangers just to keep my code of gatherings small ..

Being associated with Speedway has been a enjoyable journey so far ,you meet so many characters from various grades or classes ,all of which just like to go to a place to race and enjoy both in Nz aussie ,england ,poland ,and the usa ..
And the bonus point is that amongst these great friends we have there are very knowledgeable people out there that can diverse into subjects that can affect not only the sport but our daily lives .

Level 2 restrictions have forced the Northland rugby Union to create six separate bubbles at the stadium to be filled by 600 spectators a maximum of 100 in each bubble There will be 4 bubbles in the main grand stand and two in the terraces ... Each bubble will have a separate entry point and exit ,each bubble has a separate toilet facility ,and food stalls ,so logistically it is a heck of a big task .. So it is great see that professor Dr B Lucas has such great knowledge of some solutions which could be implemented if the time arose at events in the speedway sport The armchair critics sitting back in the lazyboy while a live stream was on ,Percy would be right in his element sitting back enjoying the hospitality that he and his fellow friends enjoy so much .. |

I do hope they understand the needs for clear guidelines & do show no tolerance for rule breakers, the last thing the Northern Taniwha need is the piercing gaze of the media with breaches of protocol that could potentially lead to spread of desease, the media will be getting a very close look at how things proceed. I’m glad they thought of it. I will let a secret out…, myself and Midway have been developing a prototype that consists of an oil pump from a Chevy crate engine, a Ryco filter, and old Alfa Laval cream separator from Midways farm, & my DeWalt cordless drill to power the contraption. Basically we have built a machine that takes blood and separates the high cholesterol out, then pumps it back inside the body. We are looking to trial it, so we would like to start by trialing it on someones pet pig, preferably one that has been raised on chocolate, fizzy drink, pizza, KFC, McDonalds, cakes, biscuits, snack foods, you know the basic stuff we feed our kids, and most of us eat ourselves. You don’t find many pigs with that sort of diet in the wild. You needn’t worry, you’re pig will be returned I good condition in 1kg plastic packaging. The tricky part here is letting Dr Bloomfeild think this was his idea. You see, in the corporate world we live in, there needs to be vested interests, political gain, or ego boosts for things to advance. The problem for me & Midway, our only agenda is to take the handbrake off our country, so the dairy farmers don’t feel so bad about sending all those truck loads of welfare payments to those that were not so long ago calling them ‘dirty dairy’ and those people can again run there latte and pilatte shops. |

Not having the strong points of communication in such a complex group of influences Dr B Lucas ,always speaks on my behalf ....  Good news of the day is Level one could be just around the corner for some parts of the country ..... I believe there is a international group that specialises in the science of regenerative medcine such as the green waste manufactured by Br B Lucas ,so that will keep us all on a high note in our speedway sport we enjoy ... |
