Hi All, Most of our team are returning for this season which is great. However, we are always keen to have a few spare so people can have a weekend off. If you're interested in joining the team we'd love to have you along. Fire crew and flag marshals could do with a couple more as back-up. Follow the link below or please contact Dion Burgess on 021 521456 volunteeringauckland.org.nz/search?query=speedway

If anyone has never watched the racing from the infield, it's a whole different perspective and quote exhilarating.

Specifically what positions need filling? There is a bloke that just likes Speedway ,but appears to be lost now to which show or venue to attend .. He would make an excellent fire crew attendant as he has a history on controlling heated subjects and flames so big than a bonfire . It is just what you need Dion to livin the place up and fill those empty seat s in the make shift grandstand .. Iam sure Percy has his details some where in one of his history cabinets on Specifically good colour full characters in the sport we enjoy ..

Will tap into this thread and ask if anyone is interested in helping organise race classes on the night. I am happy to help guide anyone that wants to be a class rep. This role covers - Keeping a list of competitors - Notifying the drivers of upcoming events and confirming entries - Working with other clubs to try and create good fields - Keeping track of results and points on the night - Creating the grids - Being an independent party if drivers are summoned to appear before the referees - Enjoy the knowledge that without you, they drivers would not be able to race
Every club is always looking for good Class Reps. I am happy for you to tag along and learn what is involved.
Lets go get dirty...
John

Was actually trying to find a role for you midwayWas hoping a supporting commentator role may have been on offer to avail your poetry to the speedway community. Alas, it appears not to be the case and it seems someone who fans the flames may not be optimal in spite of their saintly character traits

Thanks to the 30 odd volunteers who came along to the health & safety induction today. Great to be hanging around the speedway/people again. Sure is a big hole left by the demolition of the grandstand. Sounds like Acrow are making a start on the new temp Grandstand next week.

There's a vacant position for Modified scrutineer though. Would suit you down to the ground as you no doubt have the same colour hair as a large proportion of the drivers
