Only 15 to crack the 200 mark?
Hopefully a few more from local tracks to make it crack the big number.
Going to be n awesome trip, I can’t wait.
I heard someone say since it’s a a proper pairs meeting for spectators on Thursday, with all qualifying groups to watch out for a heap of contact as people try and get rid of the favourites really early?
I wonder if that means prize money for drivers Thursday as well?

From their website 198 as at 4.00pm yesterday. With 9w, 6v 667p still to enter would be over 200 mark. Hows my guess of 220 looking? Was shocked at everybody around the 150 mark.

would suggest lose 20ish cars that arrive and pass srcutineering, so 180ish. Not bad at all.

Is this a record or has there been a previous higher entry list?. I think baypark had 199 at its peak. Not sure what that came down to. But was under 173. Huntly and Stratford both cut entries at 180 and had waiting lists. So yea record number of entries for a new zealand title. Remains to be seen weather it can beat the official total of entries.

Is this a record or has there been a previous higher entry list?. It's always been taken as the number of cars that pass scrutineering for any such records, and I believe that record stands at Stratford with 173. HB should eat that for breakfast and have enough left over for morning tea. Likewise with the Superstocks at Rotorua. A new record in the offering there too.

Regan originally said no cap for entries. If more than 180 pass scrutineering I take it that means 7 groups?
21 races with quite a good chance of run off's it could be a late night, and that's just qualifying.

Could even have 8 groups. But its stockcars. Thats what makes it exceiting. Cant turn anybody away that enters on time enither just because you cant take them. Only option is regional qualifying events. Like the Olympics have. Bruce better get his thinking cap on. Because thats going to be a huge issue when they host.

Stockcars often run 30 per group compared to Superstocks 26, but 7 groups of 30 is still only 210. It's going to be a great weekend.

Just imagine 8 groups and top 3 from each group go through with 2 repo charge the next night and 3 from each repo race go through, busy 2 nights racing coming up

I understand the numbers, was just thinking more of the logistics of 21 or 24 races with run off's etc.
Any plans for an early start?

Bruce has never been afraid of big groups of cars on the track at the same time.
Lap scoring them consistently might be the challenge, however electronic should have the covered ...
35 x 6 is 210 cars
It’s going to be awesome.
Scrutineering will be a mission best to get there early!

If only the top 3 from each group qualify, man you would have to think seriously before entering. 3 from 30 is pretty tough

244 at entries close. Safe to say even with cars pulling out it will be the largest field for an SNZ NZ title in the history of Speedway. Billy Hickey wasn't so far off was he😁

Billy Hickey wasn't so far off was he😁 The way Billy Hickey was talking on saturday night at Woodford Glen he was saying 250 Cars for NZ Stockcar Champs and yet the GP could only rangle up 80 cars and only one from Greymouth Really? 250?? I wonder where he was going to get all of them from. I know it's easy to over hype somethings but geez 250? Hmmm 🤔 someone needs a reality check And someone got his reality check. Easy to why I'm getting outta the bizniz and he's not 🤣 Seriously tho that is huge good luck to Hawkes Bay and if I can offer only 1 bit of advice, don't try and do the grid draws at the drivers meeting. If you must do it on the day, do it as they pass scrutinering, but preferably days earlier

Make it 9 groups. Top 3 go thru.(27) Places 4-13 go into repo. 3 repos made up of 3 groups (1,4,7)(2,5,8)(3,6,9) Winners only make final 30.
