They have posted on their site "**You will not be able to “set up” camp (Tarpaulins/Chairs) for Friday, any items left on Thursday night will be removed sorry." so that should prevent a lot of people "reserving their seats" it will not stop drivers' family & crew putting out blankets etc but you'll never stop that (nor should you)

Their camping rules (printed below) are completely ridiculous. $100 whether you stay for one night or three, with no facilities. And while it says one night or three, it also says once you're in you're not able to get out until the meeting is concluded, packed in like sardines. And you can't book and get a space saved for you; first in first served (this varies slightly from that posted below, however was told it's all first in first served, so it may be that a slot can be booked, but everything else is correct). Not even rubbish facilities are provided for you $100.
You can get a powered site all around the country for $17-$25 per night (with a beach view at many), where you have plenty of space and have access to all of their facilities, toilets, showers and cooking facilities etc, and can drive in and out whenever you want. I'm also led to believe there should be 3.5 meteres between motor homes, but it doesn't sound like they're worried about this either as you're not even allowed to put up an awning. Just pack 'me in.
*There are still some Self-Contained Camping Sites Available (Outside the Arena within the Papakura Domain grounds) **Camping Spots are now open please email your details with a request for a Booking Form email: speedwayhb@xtra.co.nz **Please Note-: This camping and booking service will Not be operated by Meeanee Speedway Promotions nor the Hawkes Bay Speedway Club, so at No point will they be able to “Save” you a Spot! You must contact the operators direct.
Before you book a site please take the following information into consideration.
NO TENTS INCLUDING POP UP TENTS AND AWNINGS ARE ALLOWED IN THIS AREA (or either car park areas) Fully Self-Contained Motorhomes/Buses and Caravans ONLY. Motorhomes and Caravans with additional vehicles must be parked as instructed in areas provided. It is preferred that this area is maximised and persons staying over-night are asked to park as close to each other to enable maximum capacity. There are NO rubbish facilities provided and All rubbish is to be disposed of off-site. All gates (main and pit entrances) will remain locked until their opening times. Water will be available on site but there are NO TOILETS OR SHOWER FACILITES. NO Dogs Allowed in the Domain. Papakura Domain is a Napier City Council SMOKEFREE site. Once you are in the Camping Facility you will be parked for the Weekend *Some “Movable” spaces will be available on a First Come First Serve Basis for Championship Entrants only. A Flat Fee of $100 per Site will be Charged (Whether you stay for one, two or three nights)

I understand this is not run by Meeanee Speedway but by the Council.
One guy I talked to at Rotorua said that he, and others, had booked somewhere else and were going to carpool to the track.

Here's my piece from this morning's Whanganui Chronicle, with every one of the seventeen V competitors getting a mention, along with a few other notables. Obviously, it has a strong Wanganui focus, for which I make no apology! But from a Wanganui Stockcar and Speedway Club perspective, having seventeen Stockcars heading away to a national title event is fantastic. The Club and the Stockcar class are in great heart, and Wanganui drivers have done a lot of travelling this season. It's not that long ago that we were lucky to have seventeen Stockcars on the books at all, let alone turning up for meetings! Tonight should be fantastic, with 24 Stockcar races where drivers will put everything on the line to qualify. Good luck to every driver, because they'll need it, and an extra helping of good fortune to those who are proudly Flying the V. I can't wait to get over there!

what is seating arrangement, first in first served, hope no tarps or blankets, Rotorua was a disaster, with the majority of the embankment covered in blue, no a guy who folded a tarp under and wolaaah we had a seat. In my own personal opinion that whole blue tarp self-reserved seating thing sucks. Just my view.

Since I am banged up and don’t feel fit to attend, I will try the stream. Have used video hub before on the iPad but I now have the ability to chrome cast. Does anyone know if this is supported? Living on a boat I have to go about setting up differently as no land line for internet. Hoping a rank outsider takes it out to surprise us all!

I looked at their site last night and chromecast is not supported. It suggests it may or may not work. From their FAQ's page. "Please remember the stream is NOT SUPPORTED on smart tvs, chromecasts, playstations or other similar devices. It may work and it may not."

I will be on the bank both nights & will post results as I hear them. Mike Wilson does a great job on the mic & understands what the fans want to hear. Someone down at the pits end may want to post photos of the posted results also - especially the final points tables later in the evening. They have a habit of locking the exit gate quite early after the meeting at Meeanee for Joe Public so any time spent searching for results at nights' end often means a drive back through the pits to get out!!
Tony - txt me on 021 721344. We can then make double the noise urging on the mighty "V".

Will depend on signal out on the water, does have radio and commentary at the same time but sure they will switch the radio off soon. Bring on the carnage and upsets.

How F*n useless are they? I've just tuned in to have 1 commentator yelling at us and the other coming thru with the ambient noise from the speaker. If they are useing the same camera they use at palmy, you know the one that makes day look like night and night look like the inside of a shark, it'll be the last time I use them

One race still to go and it has been 1 and 3/4 hours. Looking like a 2 hour round of racing, which makes for a half midnight finish without runoff's.
I know today was a work day, but think this meeting should have started at half 5 at the latest if not 5pm.
