One race still to go and it has been 1 and 3/4 hours. Looking like a 2 hour round of racing, which makes for a half midnight finish without runoff's. I know today was a work day, but think this meeting should have started at half 5 at the latest if not 5pm. Yet another reason to look at restricting qualifying numbers. If meetings go till then, speedway just adds more ammunition to the nearby residents who dislike noise very late at night, and complain to councils, which can only end badly for the sport as a whole. If we as a sport look inconsiderate of the wider public by making noise till then, we will end up with a sport severely restricted countrywide, as to where tracks can run, and when till. I know its a championship, and we need to get this meeting thru, but going forward as a sport we need to manage this problem better.

Agree, but also not sure of the solution. The class has an issue of its own success.
May be run this championship on a long weekend where Monday is a holiday. I know HB doesn't fall under Auck or Well anniversary weekends, but the locals could do sat and sun without involving work days if it was those weekends with early start. Travelling fans and drivers would need time off anyway.
Run sat and sun and start at 4 or 5. Public will be more tolerant to noise duration if it starts early.
Your welcome!

Certainly agree. Admittedly it is still flat out racing at this stage. best spot to be on pole and push hard with bumpers
Last couple of races the track seemed over watered.
Hope 3rd heats have some intentional hitting or blocking.
Hope you had an afternoon snooze Gordy!

How can it take so long to remove a car from the track?

Watching the live stream, why is there no points going into heat 3..... very slack !!!
Some people are posting bits on Facebook about points but somehow no one has given them to the commentary team.

How can it take so long to remove a car from the track? The curse of Superstock and stockcar racing lately, takes alot of enjoyment out of the sport for us spectators.

so does push starting non contact classes, Crashes and reds are part of the sport.
I would rather see a crash red than the dicking around with push starts. Actually add re-starts where open wheel pri-madonas dont want to line up to that!

Vickery 3 from 3. So far not much itentional hitting to help mates qualify. From heat one you knew you were toast. Help mates.

Viewing wise ,the night has lacked intensity ,no points updates to know who is near qualifying ,are the commentators not given updates ,shows how spoit we are when attending big meetings at Rotorua.
