Explain please! Sonja and team have done an amazing job as have the vid crew travelled from deep south. Can't wait to hear your karma explanation. any one involved with the rain effected nz champs at 2ks many moons ago will know what I mean. Not knocking any body I know how hard they all work and put on some of the best shows in speedway year in and out. Best looking and run speedway in nz is paradise valley I hope weather plays the game and all see a awesome meeting Kihikihi started their meet and couldn't get it done. Why that has anything to do with Rotorua is anyones guess, certainly not karma I would have thought. If anything, trying to run tonight could have let to that happening to them, but they tried.

What about all the ppl with reserved seats?? If it's free do we get a refund? you still have reserve seating they are yours, you paid for them, as for free entry for everyone else, that,s the risk you take with reserve seating, can,t control weather, she-it happens

No reason Reserved Seats cant still be valid. People will still have their printed bit of paper or online conformation of their seat numbers. That's the way I look at it. It's free gate entry is what they're talking about. Tickets can't be rescanned to once the people are in once, so they have to do a freebie tomorrow for those that legitimately had tickets today, and yes, obviously, some may take advantage and come in tomorrow without paying. That's a cost the club has to wear. They'll still have to pay if they want to see the finals as well. yes I heard it was a nightmare with tickets as they can only be scanned once so how hard is it for the club to say show us your sat ticket and then they just let them walk on thru Tuesday night and or both prob both as ga tickets on the night just hand out a rain out pass to everyone but I guess that does take a lot of time and the blanket free entry is prob the easiest way also the people whinging about it being free well all I can say is atleast your still there some of us have had to leave already as we have to return to work 2mrw and also well done rotorua for pressing on to get it done
its a real shame the weather has ruined this meeting

Not so sure that too many of the others have stopped long enough to think before typing.

Hopefully the club put an update on their website and Facebook as they have the last 2 days and it can clear up a lot of this stuff.

Does 133 go down as rotorua total as thats the number that took to the track. Or will it be tomorrow nights total? Very curious. Yay numbers Well technically did the meeting start? As grand parade is usually apart of the meeting and they have had a drivers briefing! So is tommorow a continuation of tonight’s meeting or is it a complete restart. As I know 1 bay car had to go home as couldn’t race today, but they can race tommorow and weds 🤔 Barry officially declared the meeting a go so that will be the official numbers 5 minutes latter the sky's opened

Obviously a breakdown in communications somewhere as the wrong thing opened. Just so heartbreaking for everyone concerned.

But any idea if the groups can still be tweaked, to account for some groups possibly having more withdrawals than others overnight, or has the meeting officially started?

The gp will be a lottery now you would expect. Very little time for repairs now.

Very little time for repairs now. more than likely last I heard there was 80 something that’s in part why they tried to push tonight this event has prestige what you will find is 2nd and 3rd tier numbers on night 2 will fall away here which takes away from the event

Hopefully Huntly will learn from Rotorua playing Russian Roulette with the weather gods and bite the bullet and postpone the meeting untill the following weekend. The weather forecast (which was accurate for the Rotorua Meeting) is awful for Friday Saturday and Sunday.
The added bonus is there will be a week for those who suffer damage a full week to repair their cars and maybe seek revenge.
The downside is the crowd maybe split with the NZ Standard Stocks, scheduled for the 15th/16th at Napier and the other downside is that there is another double header the following weekend back at Rotorua the following weekend with the 240's. Can the average stock car follower afford 3 weekends of double header racing and then 2 weeks after that we have the big one at Palmerston North
Will wait with baited breath any updates.
Slightly off topic, anyone seen an entry list as I don't see one on the Huntly website or are they waiting to see what happens at Rotorua

If Huntly can't/don't run this weekend their numbers will drop substantially. The reason they chose to run next weekend was to piggy back on the NZ's. If there is a week delay it may as well be the Waikato champs. Lower Nth Island cars will go home and re-group for the 240's which seem to be held in higher regard than the GP.

Running the g.p same weekend as new zealand stocks. Are you mad? Thats not a very good idea. Considering there is a huge double over of entries. And its the same fan base. Nz champs for stocks gonna be massive. And huntly would lose on every front. Still way to early to call. Give it 2 days and thats when you get a better picture. You cant live life with a bunch of what ifs. You live with what is. Rotorua have handled this very well. I remember feeling so angry at palmys botched effort i refused to go back and make up for dollars i lost out on. Meenaee has also pissed we off with rain out treatment that i refused to go rest of the year two seasons back. So instead of jumping over somebody when they down. Measure it with the way have gone about it in tring conditions. A very awesome effort.

Would have been nice to have some sort of communication about what was happening, even though you could tell it was over. Sitting their for ages in the heavy rain and there was no word at all, apart from the raffel results.... maybe they all headed for the bar early and forgot about everyone sitting out there. Hope its sunny tomorrow and we can get this over with !! Firstly they did have to see what was happening with the rain. They know how quickly it can pass if the wind is blowing in a certain direction, but the wind direction changed 3-4 times then basically stopped to nothing. Stan then went and checked the track, it was hard under the water but then it became obvious the infield was a problem, and SNZ had to become involved. In the end Sonja said the competitors in the country's premier event deserved a good track, and reluctantly pulled the pin. I can just imagine if they'd made the decision at Operation Warp Speed and the had of stopped 30 seconds later you'd. E on here complaining they acted too fast and should of waited. I think a couple of you need to re-evaluate whether you're tough enough to be speedway fans.

The groups will be rebalanced after scrutineering is done yet again, and the grid draws will be done again also.

What is the 240's? Apologies for being off topic, just wanted to know.
