Someone mentioned to me yesterday that with all the work going on at the track currently that teams & more importantly spares & tools are a long way from the pit gate..can any1 confirm this? Is this going to cause even more drama around the 3min bell once the gate is closed? Will teams need to be organized & drive a spares/tool vehicle up behind the gate as their team enter the track?

Yeah good call, I'm from palmy and am astonished they haven't sorted this sh*t out by now, but it's a good long walk to go get to the pits now. Pretty stupid really.. Might be a 10 minute bell( tongue in cheek)

I see baypark has got a golf cart to carry everything for the 3min bell. It should only be tyres, jack, duct tape and some basic tools as you only got 3min. to fix any issues.

Does the 3 minute bell countdown start when the car stops or when the crew jump over the pit gate?

Does the 3 minute bell countdown start when the car stops or when the crew jump over the pit gate? It is entirely up to the ref. Interestingly tho the rules say the car should be gridded up within the 3 mins. Over the years it has become the norm to allow the car to stay at the pit gate area until the end of the three mins.

Does the 3 minute bell countdown start when the car stops or when the crew jump over the pit gate? Starts once the clerk of the course tells the crew it's ok to enter the track
