I've heard of a few teams struggling to get numbers, maybe the year of ring in's. Promotions might need to up the appearance money to try help teams get a team.

And yet there was a record number of Superstocks at the NZ Champs this year. Is there a perception by rookies that they are not wanted to put their hand up? When you see some of the ring-in situations that have occured recently perhaps the impression being given by existing teams is the problem. I would have thought whilst picking the strongest team, giving a rookie an opportunity at the Auckland event was an investment in the team future.

Will be interesting to see who can get a team together.. I know Jordan Dare is heading to ChCh and Luke Miers is out after being injured in Wellington.. Not sure if Bengston will make himself available or not. Obviously there will be a Panthers team, but will they be able to field a Mustangs team too?

With another covid case popping up today I wonder if the Auckland will be able to run this event. Fingers crossed last year's final was the best for many years

Yeah hope it goes ahead.Great meeting that one.Plenty of action without all the hype of the Palmy Teams meeting. No need for prebooking or accomodation problems either.

The problem is graemeh that not every super stock driver want to teams race. I would say of a track that has 20 cars you be lucky to get 8 drivers who are 100% keen. Auckland is a great track to teams race but if you take a Rookie there he can get caught out very easy and that hit may put him off teams racing, even the good drivers get caught out in Auckland. I know there has been a few drivers that have teams raced in Auckland that have got hurt and haven't been back since.

I remember you being rolled first lap in your stockcar racing for the wanganui warriors. Glad it didn't put you off and thanks for the great memories you have provided since then.

Andrew Harvey once told me it was about $5k a corner to rebuild his car. That's just shocks, brakes and little bits, no motor or gearbox costs.

Hopefully Palmy can field both Panthers and Mustangs, or maybe even a ring-ins Huntly Team, as a nice round 8 Teams would be good!! Always an excellent meeting.

I would expect most of the Panthers team from teams champs to be unavailable, Luke Miers is injured, William Humphries, Jordan Dare & not 100% on Jack Miers normally do battle of the stocks. That would suggest there wouldn't be enough drivers available to make 2 teams
