I was hoping a Stockcar rule change was you have to do some stirring at least once during the nights racing.

Too much to read for me, and I am not technical. Interesting that the rubbish 4 bar banning has been submitted with no rational. Pretty much sums it up really. I suppose " because other teams have spend alot of time/investment making these chassis work and now my chassis design doesn't have the advantage it used to have" isn't the best rational!

As large as it is the need to read and understand i think is very important. If this is to go through there will be a large number of cars needing a lot of of season rebuilding or worse cars that will become nothing more than guarge show pieces.

An example of the stupidity of some are regarding permitting "mirrors" where previously they were not allowed. Its quoted due to "health and safety" but if that was the case surely they should be made compulsory, not optional.

And I thought the cars that were damaged or circulating slowly were meant to stay out by the wall until told to make their way infield. If you pull to the infield blind you are asking for trouble. Admittedly, it can't be a nice feeling sitting out by the wall.

Then they want them in saloons on health and safety grounds. In ministocks theyt say drivers can use them for blocking. In saloons they say the refs can tell if they are being used for blocking.

Yes and with one way communication cannot that hard to tell a driver when it is clear to move on to the infield.

Mirrors on midgets and sprintcars etc,...will make us the laughing stock of openwheel speedway. What next, brakes on bikes?

The proposed stockcar seat rule change makes me worry. Not everyone prefers a full containment seat.
If this goes ahead then many competitors will be forced to change their well proven Chestnut style or other custom fabricated seats to comply with the rules.

I don’t see any reason why professionally built seats like the Chesnutt and Heyburn couldn’t be added to the list of approved seats, there has just previously been no need to have them on the list which was originally for seats that didn’t meet SNZ specs such as the Racetechs being composite material. Wouldn’t be hard to provide fitting instructions. Nothing in the proposal about the seat needing to be full containment.

I'm not sure how Racetechs can be compliant when you look at all the safety gear being required to be SFI rated for fire safety. The only way to make a Racetech more flammable is to add petrol, and that would only make it marginally more flammable. Hence why I got rid of mine after my first year racing, as well as getting hurt in it all the time.

A big issue is that racetech seats are only rated for 1 impact and are meant to be returned for a safety inspection. Was told this by Mr racetech himself when I was in the market for a new seat.

The same one that I believe is gods gift to stockcar racing? I don’t feel as safe in my new neck brace
