It's because he didn't stay in indian file for the restart Wouldn’t they normally orange light it, and go again with the re-start - rather than exclude the offender after the flag?

How many podiums has the 18c chassis had now? Being the ex Glen Leech car?

Some amusing reading from commenters on Facebook that it only happened coz they wanted a South Island car on the podium or it was the letter on his car haha

18C in his first year of modifieds was phenomenal so young yet so fast and just knows when to make the moves and far more often than not manages to pull them off was alot of fun watching him flying around making numerous passes.

While a lot of attention has been on 18C Jacob Mitchell getting 3NZ and rightly so he deserves all the accolades he is getting, remember the new 1NZ Luke Brown is also a youngster{ not a teenager } and has been on the championship podium a few times now [ 3 seasons in a row, 1 NZ, 3NZ, 1NZ]. When Luke and Brad Lane hit the tracks I recall posting on here that they were champions in the making. With Waikaraka getting a new 30 yr lease they will as old as some of current competitors when the lease expires. It is good to see the youngsters entering the sport but those oldies don't gift the championship to them on a silver platter, they have to work for it. Long live speedway and the modified class.

It's because he didn't stay in indian file for the restart Not convinced an exclusion is the appropriate penalty for this offense, actually not even convinced that the Indian file rule should be in the rule book Good weekends racing, with the three podium finishes all well deserved rewards for their efforts over the weekend.

Jacobs Modified has a very good record when it comes to championship events having previously been owned by Glen leech who got 2x 2nz and 1x 3nz and 4 South Island titles in it.

Also a video review was undertaken immediately after the race, hence why four cars where sent to the infield.

Agreed with the punishment not fitting the crime, should just be a couple of spots relegated. While I can understand the ruling on the Rae scenario, personally that’s over the top for me as well. Think back to Colin Cameron being tossed from the Stockcar finals because he didn’t hear the message for drivers briefing, and personally I think there needs to be a rethink on the penalties for these instances

But it is in the rule book. He also went before the green, according to the referee's explanation in the comm box, so he could have gotten him on that as an alternative.
