Not convinced an exclusion is the appropriate penalty for this offense, actually not even convinced that the Indian file rule should be in the rule book Good weekends racing, with the three podium finishes all well deserved rewards for their efforts over the weekend. But it is in the rule book. He also went before the green, according to the referee's explanation in the comm box, so he could have gotten him on that as an alternative. Frankly it should be dealt within the race. Call the start back send the offender back a spot unfurl the green again. If the referee misses it that's just part of the game

If he went before the green, then either restart or send him to the back. Why wait till the end of the race? Because they way it looks now, 18c finished 3rd by default...

The 18c also got gifted the win on the Friday night as well , i thought any right side tyre was an exclusion from the race ,he had a right front flat tyre .
it was a weekend full of inconsistent penalties which put a dampener on the whole thing..

What did Dan Rae actually do to get his 22 day holiday Retaliation after the race, following mid-race contact and an illegal passing move from the 21s. 21s was relegated two spots for the pass. Barry B

If the referee misses it that's just part of the game I don't think the referee missed it, purely reviewed the available footage immediately after the race to confirm what he saw before he made the big call. The referee also explained how he was on the one-way radio during the caution, reminding every driver to remain in line. Barry B

Barry B Didn't say he missed it And just to be clear, Bill followed the regulations on Saturday night, the point I was trying to make is that this option to review after the race should be removed from the regulations. This should be handled in real time during the race, not after. The increasing use of video with no competitor representation is also of concern. And while I'm here the penalty than the 24c received was excessive (nil points on night 1 would have been more appropriate), there is clearly to my mind an issue with the fix penalty system.
