As far as I knew Baker was A registered Moff the commentator here is not known for having all his facts right. I'll go with you. I didn't even know we had any M registered midgets All the BSL cars are M registered with Bill being the promoter. I think there are a couple of others too.

I think there's about 6-7 'M' Midgets in total Including of course the new 1NZ is a M registered car - 27M Hayden William's- and now appropriately BOP champ too. He has the chance to go the the trifecta with the Major SNZ titles after his earlier Stratford win too!

Personally would rebrand as the commandle champs out of tarunga. Much like kihi kihi is not in the king country yet nobody ever questions the small waitakio town running the king country champs. No sure about baypark running at easter. Yes i know they are entitled to run. But with some big meetings in all classes at easter. Do feel they are alittle lite on numbers in most classes.

I don't think BP shud run at Easter. Up to them if they do, but I think the numbers on display were testament to that.
Throw some crackers at it and the promoter gets a decent gate for a poor show, and does nothing to get a future general crowd.
Hopefully come October everyone has forgotten this season from a spectator perspective, and hopefully the promotion team has learnt from their mistakes from what has been a very lack luster season. There has not been one meeting that I have been to that I have felt has been worthwhile. Having said that, I haven't been to many after the first few.

From recall there used to be one BoP Champs, shared between Rotorua and the Mount. Perhaps that got lost in translation when Baypark was in hibernation? I'm sure someone out there will know...

Thanx Steeldog. Doesn't seem I missed too much. Depends on what you are looking for in a good race meet. I wasn't expecting much, given the classes aren't my favourites and the size of the fields that did turn up. However, I left thinking I saw a lot of great racing in every class. Door to door hard clean racing with not much in the way of a runaway winner. Lap times weren't slow either. It was a very good meeting for the large crowd that came for the fireworks afterwards to see and show off what can happen on track. Stockcars are never going to compete with a Rotorua meeting, but they mixed it up and Stacey Ketch being slammed into the turn 3/4 wall backwards certainly got a lot of excitement going. I've been to quite a few boring meeting where very little happened, small number too far spaced out around thd large track and the results were predictable. This was not one of them. The promoters would be happy the non-regulars got this as a taste of speedway. But as I said at the beginning. It depends what you look for in a speedway meeting.
