Relaxing in the recliner sipping the best in the west a good drop of home made vodka ,the rain is falling on the roof as it rolls in off the tasman sea heading down the coastline
I certainly hope it doesnt annoy the projects waiting at the park ,but the atmosphere had a twinge of dampness about it today ..

Latest met service forecast has no rain from midnight tonight until 10pm tomorrow (Saturday) night.
So might get lucky!!

Consider me amazed!

Both metservice and weather watch have rain coming in around 9:30-10:00pm so the focus tonight has to be on efficiency. Racing needs to start bang on 6pm, reduce hot laps to three, strict enforcement of the 3-minute bell, crash crew need to be on it. In general do everything possible to minimise down time.

Went and had a look at the track at about 10.30, with half an eye on tomorrow night.

As you could expect the pole line is a bit soft in the corners, but I've seen it a lot worse. The only problem with tonight's classes is that there's no wide tyres to give it a pack before and during the meeting; with the two stockcar classes chewing it up, the midgets might find the going a little challenging. However if they go up mid track, where the Sprint Cars were doing their best work last week, they might find themselves on the fastest track they've been on all season.

If the forecast is true to form with the rain turning up on schedule, and the track crew get a chance to grade and re-set the surface before it does, the Mods should get a belter of a track tomorrow night.

That is crazy. Flag drop for first race should always be start time. No exceptions. This meeting should also be starting at 5.00 pm.

Earliest i found rain is 7pm it could not at all. And with the draw still to do. Be a hard gig. To late to cancled stockcars?

You can't expect them to play around with the program too much at this late stage. They just need to act with haste all night.

The place looks great and they're still working on the track where there's still some water on the pile line.

Three showers during the night, but didn't really hinder the racing at all. The track surface took it well although (obviously) the infield grass was very slippery.
