How do the top 2 teams end up in a 2nd night draw like is currently there. Currently it's the 2 best preforming teams from night 1 potentially meet in a semi final.. Its so simple to fix..and its visible and sensible...
1 v 8 each race winner is a 4 v 5 = semi finalists >>>> Final 3 v 6 each race winner is a 2 v 7 = semi finalists

Love that it is first across the line and that all 8 teams can win. Based on last night anything can happen, but would like the see some reward for being top two in qually. Potentially may have been better being a lower qualifer and being on the other side of the 2 nd night draw. Yes, I am well aware to win you need to beat top teams at sum stage.

Was there a change in points post racing?
I thought at the track Whanganui was in and the Mustangs were out. Points were unofficial at the track and I did struggle to hear at times so I may have been wrong.
Actually scrap that, I see somewhere that a Stratford car was excluded (rightly or wrongly) so I guess that's where the extra points came from.
Shame for Wangas.

Has anyone got the confirmed points for each round? I can't quite work out the maths of the Stratford and Mustangs points, as it was looking like wanganui was ahead of mustangs going on provisional points.

Manawutu put a protest in. However stratford gained points against hawkes bay when they chucked the yellows on to early. By the sounds of it. The car in question had a busted front and didnt have a choice. Kinda like the randle Tarrant incident when he go forcwd off the track and then smashed into peter fields who was on the infield. Tarrant got excluded from the race. That call didnt cost anybody anything. Unlucky Dylan Marshall.

Kind of raises the possibility that the two top point scorers will maybe not be against each other if they win their quarter final, substitute "the semifinal" to "a semi-final" and it makes more sense, but ultimately we will see tonight and either way it should be a great night.

Apparently this is sorted. It appears the write up is right and the program of events is wrong, at least according to a couple of drivers I've spoken to. Have had one short shower of rain at the track a little while ago, and maybe one or two more coming, but everything should be okay for a great second night to match the first. Good field of Mods too.

Well they didn't fix the slightly dodgy Night 2 semi final draw after all that, leaving ChCh to face the top 2 points scorers from night 1 back to back. Tough ask, beat the Kings but succumbed to the Panthers. Seems the drivers that informed me the glitch was fixed were incorrect.

Anything that says there was is fake news Well, the Warriors left the track after 11pm on Saturday night knowing they were in the Top Eight after beating Hawkes Bay. Sometime after midnight, they were told about the change of points from the Scrappers v Mustangs race, and that as a result, they were in ninth place. Given the race in question took place during Round One, and would have been completed before 9pm, possibly earlier, that's a long time gap between the official result being declared, then an amended result and points being posted. In the absence of any explanation from the promotion or SNZ, is it any wonder people are asking questions? To their credit, the Warriors management and drivers took the disappointment on the chin, fronted on Night Two, and put on a good show. I have no doubt however that it took the gloss off their weekend

Thanks for sticking up for me tony much appreciated. Went to sleep warriors through woke up to mustrangs through. A check though facebook told me why it had occurred. I know there is no such thing as a protest in teams racing. And chose this wording as a provocative statement. As somebody more helpful than myself has pointed out. The difference between a protest and going to the ref and saying pkease look into this is in the wording. I do not know if that was the case for this through but still a good conversation point I wasnt aware of that race having question marks around it when i went to bed so to me was line of best fits. Could be also that the refs put it to one side. And saud we will look at this later. Something rotorua does very well is pass on that information.
