Yes would be nice to have something official like the Knoxville Hall of fame, there was a open wheeler one a few years ago run by some springs people but seams to of disappeared,we need something that covers all classes in NZ and people inducted in each year, maybe at the Speedway NZ awards, like Knoxville 10 or so each year.

Barry B You could now that you are on the pension All clubs could surely contribute a fixed rate annually as the nominees have more than likely paid the price to race and entertain plus fill the coppers in the tin at some point of time during there career ..

Yes I would say it would only happen if the club's got together, that would be a miracle in itself lol,we don't seem to get into the Hall of Fame stuff in NZ, which is a bit sad.

The stockcar one is just a Palmy thing isn't it? Something at the annual speedway awards would work, wouldn't it? A limited number of nominations per club each year and then voting at the awards night.

You don't wanna have the 20 (or however many) nomanees there and after the vote 10 get told you're in, the other 10 "Sorry you ain't legend enough". If it's being done at national leval it needs to be a national achievement, it don't matter what someone has done for their club or track, it needs to be about what theve done or achieved nationally

So actually needs to be added to the speedway rulebook with set rules. On the track? Or does it need to include off the track as well. Its a big undertaking. And one that needs a special committee to select names. Going back historically is a hard one to get right as well because we all remember the 2000s. But what about the 1930s to 1960s? Its a good thing to have but time it takes, moneynits gonna cost and there are but a few people who are actually qualified to do this job. Do they want to actually get together and do it. Still doesn't take a way its a great idea.

How would one qualify for this Hall of Fame? It shouldn't be on a 'big name' purpose. That's unfair. But Personally think someone like Peter Field 27c superstock, in Chch would qualify.. He has raced for 40 plus years.. He may not win any races, but he races on a wage, and is there every week.

The best that was for the era envoled. What you are talking about is a life time dedication to speedway which should fall under a life membership for services to stockcars in the Canterbury region.

What your talking about is maybe becoming a life member of a club.
