Announced on his Facebook page, Kyle Larson will be in NZ for a period of time peddling the new red waka
When this will occur, Kyle’s racing schedule and NZs lockdown/quarantine will decide, but will hopefully be this coming season or next
Deal has come about as wayne has been helping a late model team in the US for 6 years or so, and the team owner has signed up Larson, and also come on board to analyse all the data from the new car and work on setups, and he said wants to put Larson in the car to get the best feedback. Hopefully will be here for an extended time and they will road trip around the country to various tracks

Not saying it won’t happen… but I would be surprised if Hendrick motorsports would allow Kyle to run in a full contact race meeting…

Look what happened to SVG when he tried to do season in Midgets last season Roland Dane jumped on that idea real quick and i would doubt very much that Rick Hendrick the Boss and Owner of Hendrick Motorsports would agree to letting Yung Money aka Kyle Larson pedal the new 591? QTR5 Red Waka

If they show Rick Hendrick some Superstock teams racing videos,he will have a heart attack lol.Anyway alot of normal racing now is just a bit of push and shove, its just the accidental crashes you have to worry about,im sure the guys will take it easy on him and just give Kyle another racing buzz.

Pre-Covid Kyle had visited New Zealand a number of years to race the Harley Taylor Midget in the International Midget Series, and I don't imagine that'll change anytime soon (Covid allowing). However I do remember one year when he was having quite a successful run for his former (Chip Ganassi) team it was announced that if he won the NASCAR Cup competition then he would not be available to tour New Zealand. He looks more likely to win the overall championship this season than ever before, so if he does I wouldn't expect to see him in New Zealand in a Midget let alone a Superstock. But let's hope he does make it either this summer or next, and we can see the kid in both machines. He loves to drive, and seems to be somebody that can drive anything. I still live in hope that we may see SVG in a Midget for a season, with Roland Dane stepping down as team boss at the end of this Supercar season. While we're at it, how about SVG is a Superstock too?

Last time (I think) he raced in the midget, both Larson and Bell had huge tumbles coming out of turn 2 at the Springs. Both drivers packed up after that and the rumour was that their teams had said no more. There is always the risk that their main pay check will have to dictate the off season. Same thing that happened to SVG. I really hope it comes off and maybe he could find time and a ride for a sprint car to round the trip off nicely (for me anyway)…

Looking forward to see Kyle Larsen return But i find it a little amusing how a Superstock driver of Mr hemi,s experience is looking for new set ups from a guy that mostly concentrates his career on open Wheel racing and Nascar . The h/p between a superstock and a sprintcar is vastly different so is the set up . Maybe Mr Hemi needs to try some of Percys Pills to stop the arthritis in his foot on the go pedal and get some sound knowledge off another chap BL before the rust sets in and its all lost in a green waste paper bag ..

The Suspension setup knowledge that KL would have is most likely the key. The four corners of a racecar is more important now than ever, you can chuck as much horsepower at it as you want but if the shocks aren't right it's all for nothing.

From what I've seen of Kyle's driving, I tend to think the gooey bit in the middle (Kyle's brain connected with Kyles 'seat of the pants') has quite an impact on the car, any car he drives. From what I have seen, the average American put 'NZ Superstock' racing right up there with figure 8 bus racing as a curiosity, but the profile of KL will certainly help, if he does get to have a peddle. Cool news either way. If Midway put's Kyle behind the wheel of his Fergy tractor, I'm sure Kyle could qualify it for the NZ Superstock champs, he can do no wrong. BL

Just a bit more proof Kyle is a pretty good pedlar,he just popped into Fairbury speedway today and won the $50.000 World of Outlaws Late Model feature after having a good battle with the smooth operator Bobby Pierce who is also having a good season having won around 12 features this year in the Late Models.

It only takes one person that knows how to use a bumper, and it's all over..
