There's an article saying that we could stay in level 2 until next year if so that's going to put almost all events on hold including speedway.Obviously I'm hoping it's not the case but if so then that's a huge downer right there.

Who are they quoting, was it some guy at the diary, was it The Lying C..., was it Dr Bloomfield (some doctors make you well, and some just make ya sick)? Of course it's correct we COULD spend the rest of time in L2, we could spend it at L4, we could be at L zero (fat effin' chance admiringly). But without knowing who is making these predictions I have no idea how much water it holds.

Thankfully all I read is an opinion article and nothing factual.

On October 1st Auckland will become the only city on the planet with a population of over 1 million people being forced into a lockdown. How much longer the sheeple will keep going along with the ridiculous decision is anyones guess. Look at the full stdiums all around the world, 65ooo people at the All Blacks game, 60,000 at 26 stadiums across America for opening day of the NFL, 9.7 million people at the World Cup Soccer games in Europe in one day. Sydney and Melbourne both stop lockdown on the 1st Oct. Covid isnt going away. The world will have to deal with it and so will NZ

Amazing how none medical folk have all the answers, seems more medical folk work out of DHB's than in it. Hopefully the green light will be lifted when the coast is clear but while we have idiots who won't self isolate then escape when put into MIQ and walk amongst Joe public while knowingly infected, like the real ovine species infected one's infect others. I'm in the over 70 group, work by choice not necessity and have good health, but mainly for wellbeing . Have had the 2 vaccinations and just had negative result for covid swab for peace of mind as cross the border daily for work. As a none qualified medical person I rely on their advice and guidance, not F/B and social media junkies. Example, social media followers say no scientific evidence to say covid real yet in next breath they say all those who have had the vaccination be dead in 5 yrs, where is that scientific evidence. Each to their own belief's, preaching it NO.

As it is, fairly soon NZ will be one of few worldwide with no community transmission. Nothing easy is worth while.

We don't have covid here so we don't really need to roll out the vax very quickly. In fact we are doing so well we have told the manufacturer to delay some of our supplies cause we don't really need them just yet. Sound familiar? It should cause that was the line The Lying C... trotted out before guess what? Yup you got it. We had covid delta!!!

To enter venues. Have to show vaccination card. Have temperature checked. And mask wearing. Don't comply no entry. Simple. If this is what we have to do for Speedway i have no problem with it.

Abbreviated excerpt of article on Herald website, Singapore Living With Covid Singapore has 80% total population vaccinated. Friday had 216 locally transmitted cases, General Hospital and Bus Terminal. Since August the 6th fully vaccinated Singaporeans able to eat in restaurants in groups of 5 plus allowed up to 5 household visitors. Unvaccinated individuals who can prove a negative test also able to benefit. Live performances, cinemas, weddings etc up to 1,000 vaccinated attendees and 50 unvaccinated. Open borders to Hong Kong, Maco, Germany and Brunei for quarantine free travel for vaccinated residents. Move into new phase, living with covid and becoming covid resilent. Only revert to tightened posture as last resort to prevent hospital system being overwhelmed. Quarantine violations, $10,425 NZ and or 6 mths jail. Not wearing a face mask 1st offence $300, 2nd $1,000, repeat offending may face prosecution in court or higher offences. Attack strategy to take necessary precautions so as it devolves into an endemic virus where overwhelming majority recover without needing to be hospitalised with little or no medication.

NZ graciously let some of the supply go elsewhere, as it was deemed needed there more urgently. I see nothing wrong with that, but apparently you do! Some racers make a mistake, get called up to the tower, then go back racing doing the same infraction. The govt is hopefully not going along that track, but then it's the population that they are trying to get on side.

And yet in every single video you have posted on the open wheel page there is no masks, also watch the SGP or any other sporting event on the planet, there is no masks. There should not be one rule for NZ and another for every person on the planet.

And if you listen to the live streams they are often talking about the people not there because of covid or someone that has died because of it. Numbers are spiraling upwards in the States. Wear the bloody mask I say.

Yes i see all the people in the crowds in the US without masks. Yes on all the videos i post. But we as Kiwis don't have to follow there lead. Look at there covid numbers and deaths. All I'm saying would rather have speedway here than not at all. And if that means wearing a mask. Showing vaccination cards so be it. Is as much for keeping me safe and my fellow Kiwis.

Got my first jab on Friday, fingers crossed we have a proactive head office at SNZ doing the mahi to get this sort of approach up and running so we can go racing in October. Been a great opportunity to accelerate the vaccination process, with it going flat out. My experience was fast, efficient and friendly. I think the lockdown has been great motivation for everyone to get it done. And now the cases are starting to decrease. Despite some of the libatarians on this board getting on their high horses, and the world watching NZ and leaders who have failed their countries by dithering on action, it appears our team of 5 million and the decisive decision making have given us some breathing time to get the population moving faster than they would have while protecting us as it happens. Anyway, enough from me, I’m heading back to the speedway related threads.

Oh please don't tell me that, just spent the last few days booking accommodation in Kihikihi (Stockcar Grand Prix) Rotorua (World 240's) Hamilton (NZ Stockcar Teams)

Ya know what? Watching the FSU v Notre Dame game that's on now makes me angry. Prob north 80k ppl in the stadium, most of whom would be fully vax'd. In the meantime in NZ... Crickets chirp an expensive song
I know the haters are going to hate me for this but just cause stuff is open it doesn't mean u have to go to it, but all I ask is we have the choice.
Yours sincerely Angry of Lower Hutt
