Its good to see we have some Labour supporters here its what makes the merry go round take place in the circus this country is at .. No John is quite happy here for the time being ,he can play a game of golf at the localclub ,but would of liked the butcher opened in stead of the supermarkets monopoly . Oh while i think about it Magilla just think we pay out only $1million a week in rental accommodation for motels to house the poor and needy the solo parents ,we could build a few houses for that some of money ... I suppose it is good just to hold your hand out each pay day and receive it and dont have any worries where it comes from .... Hey Naki fans i havent seen the bus come round yet for the flu jab ,the Indians dont speak much English or Maori ,but have heard the govt is supplying free taxi service ,is that from the kumara and produce fields . Well Phill Goff had a smile on his face ,he kinda thinks he could see his children in a bout two weeks time that are in Raglan ,i wonder which party he belongs too ...... leave the politics out of it Midi. Final Warning.

Howdy Midway, Some interesting and provocative comments there. Good on you. Its your right to do so. I assume your Phill Goff comments are in relation to Goff's arguably coercive comments in this video... www.msn.com/en-nz/news/national/brian-tamaki-and-other-anti-vaxxers-will-end-up-in-icu-probably-beyond-redemption-goff/vi-AAP0QqW?ocid=msedgdhpFor those that are interested in making the effort to research and educate themselves about, amongst other things, the pros and cons of vaccinations (which I had no doubt is vast minority of this forum) below is a link to a recent court appeal from across the ditch in Sydney. An edged care worker was dismissed because of her inability to be vaccinated against influenza in 2020. In a Fair Work Commission decision dated 29 April 2021, Commissioner McKenna determined that Ms Kimber’s dismissal was not unfair and dismissed her application for an unfair dismissal remedy. She lodged an appeal, for which permission to appeal is required, against the Decision. Permission to appeal was refused. Of the three judges, one strongly disagreed with the majority. Starting from page 16 of the 42 page decision linked below, the dissenting judge (DECISION OF DEPUTY PRESIDENT DEAN) proffered some compelling reasons for his dissent. Some of his comments were.. [103] It has been widely accepted that for the overwhelming majority of Australians, vaccination should be voluntary. [104] The commonly accepted definition of voluntary includes acting of one’s own free will, optional or non-compulsory. This is the opposite of the definition of mandatory, which is something that is compulsory, obligatory or required. Something that is mandatory must be done. [105] The stated position of the Australian Government is that the vaccine is voluntary. On 21 July 2021, the Prime Minister in a media conference stated that “people make their own decisions about their own health and their own bodies. That’s why we don’t have mandatory vaccination in relation to the general population”. ..... [113] Before turning to a consideration of these reasons, it is important to set the context with some information that is publicly available and should be uncontroversial: a. Unlike many other vaccinations such as those used to stop the spread of tetanus, yellow fever and smallpox, COVID vaccinations are not designed to stop COVID. They are designed to reduce the symptoms of the virus, however a fully vaccinated person can contract and transmit COVID. b. The science is clear in that COVID is less serious for those who are young and otherwise healthy compared to those who are elderly and/or who have co-morbidities. In other words, the risk of COVID is far greater for those who are elderly or have co-morbidities. Around 87% of those who have died with COVID in Australia are over 80 years old and had other pre-existing illnesses listed on their death certificates. c. The World Health Organisation has stated that most people diagnosed with COVID will recover without the need for any medical treatment. d. The vaccines are only provisionally approved for use in Australia and are accordingly still part of a clinical trial 20. e. There are side effects to the COVID vaccines that are now known. That side effects exist is not a conspiracy theory. .... [115] Coercion is not consent. Coercion is the practice of persuading someone to do something using force or threats. Some have suggested that there is no coercion in threatening a person with dismissal and withdrawing their ability to participate in society if that person does not have the COVID vaccine. However, nothing could be further from the truth. ... [132] The risk of spreading COVID only arises with a person who has COVID. This should be apparent and obvious. There is no risk associated with a person who is unvaccinated and does not have COVID, notwithstanding the misleading statements by politicians that the unvaccinated are a significant threat to the vaccinated, supposedly justifying “locking out the unvaccinated from society” and denying them the ability to work. ... [179] Research in the context of COVID-19 has shown that many who are ‘vaccine-hesitant’ are well educated, work in the health care industry and have questions about how effective the vaccines are in stopping transmission, whether they are safe to take during pregnancy, or if they affect fertility. A far safer and more democratic approach to addressing vaccine hesitancy, and therefore increasing voluntary vaccination uptake, lies in better education, addressing specific and often legitimate concerns that people may hold, and promoting genuine informed consent. It does not lie in censoring differing opinions or removing rights and civil liberties that are fundamental in a democratic nation. It certainly does not lie in the use of highly coercive, undemocratic and unethical mandates. ... [182] All Australians should vigorously oppose the introduction of a system of medical apartheid and segregation in Australia. It is an abhorrent concept and is morally and ethically wrong, and the anthesis of our democratic way of life and everything we value [183] Australians should also vigorously oppose the ongoing censorship of any views that question the current policies regarding COVID. Science is no longer science if it a person is not allowed to question it. FAIR WORK COMMISSION DECISION

If people choose to not get vaccinated for what ever reason, why should the rest of the nation be forced to carry the financial and mental burden of their decision. All those that cry foul over restrictions will they be crying foul to Air NZ who have just announced that from Feb 022, no 2 jabs NO international travel.

Usually we would keep a fairly tight leash on political discussion but in this instance I appreciate there is a direct link between the politics and speedway tracks being able to race this season.
I would like to request that if contributors are going to reference politics they keep the context of their posts relevant to speedway rather than drifting into a more general political discussion as has happened on occasion.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I'm about to leave to go Superbike racing at Manfeild. Have a fantastic day ! Cheers Pete have a good day slideways, hope you haven't been too burger King down there. I've been to Burger King here in Palmy on the day in question, but not at the time specified. I have had a double dose of vacine for quite a long time. I wore a double thickness mask to the drive through at Burger King. I have no symptoms at all of Covid. But, tonight at the insistance of my Neice my wife and I got tested. My Neice didn't want us seeing my Great Nephews and Great Niece till we were sure that we were not positive. Fair enough on her part so we did. There was no que and it took 2 minutes and I found it painless. I believe that I'm taking all the practible steps that I can to ensure my own safety and that of my family and friends. I want to participate actively in my life and add to the movie of the highlights of my life for the rest of my life, not be a life spectator or be drawn into any negative conspiracy crap. Amateur scientists and prophets don't really turn me on. So yeah, great weekend, just suits me to spend time on some other projects at home right now (2 books, 2 logo's to be drawn and illustrated calendar of Maori Myths & Legends.) I won my first race trophy after Manfeild out at Harrisville today, stoked as image postManfeild is always fantastic and really neat people. Great opportunity for speedway photo taking practice. Bruce Robertson loaned me his camera in 2018 and it was already several years old then but I'm still learning the functions. It costs more to get it cleaned and re-kitted than what a 2nd hand standard Canon 7D is worth now so I'm using it till it seizes up for good. My 7D, its not even a Mark 1 or Mark 2, just standard 7D has a clicker count of over 1 million, and I'm still learning. I spent $3,300 on a new Canon lens though. Night time photography of very fast moving objects with dust and nothing is planned or posed is a real hard gig. Graham Hughes and James Selwyn and Brendon Learmonth are my mentors, they all said just get out there and have fun, so I do. Every day.

Nah, can't afford $12 burgers, just treat ourselves to Chocolate Sundae every now and then. I live in the central city. Last time I saw Rammjam was at Golden Takeaways, it's the old school after-speedway place for a value burger Come in Ram - I have a scoop for ya I'm actually going to do some Ryco art this week midwayYes I appear to have gone off topic. I do that sometimes. Sorry bout that. 5T Marcus Tomlinson and 2T Mike Tomlinson in action on Sunday NZ time at the Oktoberfest meeting at Dacotah Speedway, Mandan City North Dakota. Some of us have a dingy with a sail on it Yes Midway had the 2 jabs back in June, had 6 negatives the last 5 weeks. I by choice get my test done on Sat so I have my results before going thru the border even though have the document that says have had the test awaiting results as has has been the case of the latest case of a delivery driver getting to P/N before getting the positive result thru. As my parents would say, too late closing the stable door after the horse's have bolted. See another lawyer from Auckland has used her exemption to cross the border to attend an event other than purpose of the exemption. Just hope the Health Dept can trace the source of the latest outbreaks in the Waikato and we can get back to some type of normal life. As Jacinda said, majority of positive cases have come from unvaccinated people, draw your own conclusions. P.S. The only thing that seems certain at the moment, speedway season won't be a normal one, even if we all went to level 1 the parts supply from overseas a huge problem, tyres, mechanical or whatever.

There you go then folks.......
On radio this morning Grant Robertson basically said that no part of NZ will go to Level 1 whilst there are active cases anywhere in the country. The reason being is they need to be able to limit any outbreak quickly and any event with big crowds (a.k.a a Superspreader event) will compromise that.
Followed up with the non-announcement later in the day that Auckland stays in Level 3 for an indeterminate amount of time with no end in sight. They then went on to state that the elimination strategy is dead in the water, so what does this all mean.
Even if the magical figure of 90% vaccinated is reached and let's be honest, there's more chance of Bruce Robertson and Bill Buckley sitting down for a cup of tea and a friendly chat, that still means there's about 120 000 people in Auckland or over 500 000 people nationwide still in the high risk category. The above contradiction does not help clarify the situation.
Bottom line, and I so hope I am wrong, but my recommendation is that you go online and click and collect a bag of potting mix, take it home and tip it over your head. There's an unhealthy chance that's the only way you'll have dirt flung in your direction this season.
