I know one particular chap that got heated over various tracks and fellow competitors , Poor old Red was a true colour explaining how the track ended up in the condition it was, so the end result was either apologize or dont return ,. Yes it went on until the best of the best and the matter arising got the green light ..

I saw the race highlights. The guy who won (Gardner) was leading at a restart late in the race, the guy he was addressing was second. On the restart second place jumped the restart by a mile and got in front. There was a yellow at the end of that lap but the officials were weak or stupid or who knows but left the cheat in the lead instead of sending him back. In the last lap Gardner basically flat wheeled the cheat out of the way to retake the lead and get the win.

Awesome. Thanks for the links. Love those wingless sprintcars. some purists would be upset at the term "wingless sprintcars" to many those are sprintcars, saying there is no such thing as "wingless sprintcars" . That there are Sprintcars and Winged Sprintcars. Personally I grew up with Winged Sprintcars as that is what we had in NZ in the early 1980s. But I love both. Some of the best racing I saw in the USA were USAC Sprintcars

If all the cars make it over the start finish line except for th me car that spun on turn four then they count this in the USA. Many races have had that happen this season. The final restart was in the same order as last recorded lap. We have no idea if they were telling the leader to drop back or not - I highly doubt it

Looks like there are two cones on the inside of turn 3 and 4, im going to assume that is the restart zone? If so, Gardner didnt accelerate until at least a car length AFTER the turn 4 cone, Roa gasses it as he reaches the end of the restart zone so I cant see what Roa has done wrong there (maybe why he wasn't penalised). Gardner's pass to retake the lead isnt that bad either, just hard racing,
Seems a bit of a storm in a tea cup but we dont know what was said on the infield before the interview I guess,
I wonder how many referees in NZ would have penalized that final pass for 'contact' as per the fixed penalties and taken the win off Gardner. To me thats just hard racing and rubbin' is racin' as they say, but our rulebook would say it was an illegal pass. Its a very subjective call to make and that leads to inconsistency which has always been a SNZ issue with referees interpretation. We've all seen plenty of contact in passes and we'd all like to assume every competitor no matter their name, history or track registration would be equally judged.
