Thank you for that reference, theothermikeyb, it was very enlightening. Who would have thought that this website was an educational platform, eh?

I've made up my own mind but fear it might not catch on - "MoriOriville" "The people who became the Moriori arrived on the islands from Eastern Polynesia and New Zealand around 1400 AD. They had no contact with other people for about 400 years, and developed their own distinct culture. They were hunter-gatherers with strong religious beliefs, and outlawed war and killing." I’m just taking a small break from my decision not to argue online anymore (a decision that has been rewarded with greater happiness by the way) but just wanted to recommend you read up on Moriori history from their perspective. I quite liked e-tangata.co.nz/reflections/moriori-still-setting-the-record-straight/It will help you to stop perpetuating the myth they were inferior and driven from New Zealand. But yes the were subjected to terrible things as were other Iwi in their interactions with other Iwi. Cheers

Cheers thanks for this was a good read. So much history is edited by those who think they know what is best but the truth is what it is and best to learn from

Victoria park Stratford ,Kapai The grand opening happened on Saturday ,i guess it maybe the training field for future Stratford scrappers and the sport in general.. Scooters ,Tricyles ,Rollerblades ,and bikes rolled out by the younger generation and the older in tow at this $2million dollar venue .. i can see Naki fans with ice cream all over his face teaching the future generations on saloon racing ,and Roxy enjoying the show on a nice summers day not worrying about Covid ...

Stratford with Taranaki Munga as a backdrop , what better place in Aotearoa to have a family orientated speedway and sports facility. Yep Nakifans, ice cream and saloon racing go back many years. Naki speedway in good hands with faithful like Roxy

Let’s not forget what this would mean for our position on drop down menus. No more scrolling down to N. We will be close to the top.
And above Australia!

Understand Nigel Ross and Phil Togood will be reunited with their old cars at WP 3rd Jan, Speedweek Tibute/ Legend night. Nigel as good a performer off track as on it so should be a night to remember. Phil was a legend in the old 48A, didn't need shiny bits to get the results. Will be a night to remember sending off two legends in style.

Do you know there is only 820,000 people still unvaccinated in such a loving country we live in . Oh it was told to us in our small group of most elderly folk ,the vaccine we had 6months ago yes the double dose will expire by january next year ,we need a booster shot every six months also . Life in our small country has certainly changed and so has the people that either run it or those ones that live in it . There is no old fashion traits no more or your not suppose to hand shake no more for fear of the unknown . I never liked my dad locking the dogs up in there kennel to long with out a run or freedom ,but i see it now applies to us humans and who ever thought that in this country .. I do hope we can sit at our speedway tracks like we used to chat ,buy each other a hot dog and chips ,and have a bet on who is going to win the race between friends , Often now at night the phone rings all hours people in desperation seeking help ,one life saved is far better than one lost ...

It is good to see the sport opening up at various venues across the lower part of the north island and of course the south island . like the saying goes there is some green light at the end of the tunnel . For us in the north we are down to level two once more that is rewarding but to cross the border as a essential service ,the nose swabbing is becoming a general nuisance every five working days . i wouldnt be surprised at all if there was a big drop off in competitors and crowds a like in the Auckland province if speedway gets the green light ,you dont have to go far to listen about hardships ,the supply of parts ,and the lost taste of a hot dog . Go and see your mates make the effort even a packet of biscuits goes along way in keeping the sport you have followed for years around a table is just one thing you can do ..

Well the goal posts have shifted once more ,now traffic lights ,there will be to many depressed drunks crash into them ,so that will fail ... Percy you could as a suggestion have a few quiz,s on here about stock cars etc keeping the folk interested ,while youve got your feet up most days Us old blokes that arent suspects of covid ,havent the time we are in the fields picking green vegetables for your healthy living ...

Well that is a surprise ,mind you public pressure and the way the country is feeling ,that Auckland and the Waikato are moving to level 3 step 2 from next week Hoorah ,Hoorah the streets will bustle with people ,shopping for Xamas with the little money they have ,but to most thats the Christmas spirit we share with our loved ones in Aotearoa Is a step closer to opening the borders ,and also the pearly gates to the Speedway Sport ,we so much miss and enjoy It appears Phill B has fallen off jacinda,s plank but will be the only invited guest at her wedding ,but our celebrations will be a whole lot better with the smell of methanol and the much loved hot dogs ... (90 % vaccination is in mind of everyone ,..well most anyway ...

I was so delighted with the mention of 2 that i forgot to read it properly ,while thinking of my friends in Auckland slowly escaping from prison . Well there is a glimmer of hope amongst the confusion of the platform now that progress is about to change .. I did take note by the drone footage on the marchers on the weekend several people you see at the Springs having a leisure walk through Broadway at least they are out and about enjoying themselves ..
