To any drivers or those who know anything about the new My Laps System, what is the best or preferred option around lease, buy and subscription of the units. And also does the system provide live data etc along the same lines as the Speedway Live one?
For those looking at what options to go with, it seems like another annual or up to 5 year cost whereas the Dorian seems a more value for money option. To buy outright costs over $800 with only a 2 year warranty so leasing seems the best choice, or is it? Will the units handle contact class racing and there's huge variances on where they can be mounted, covering in some cases anywhere on the full length of the vehicle. At least the Dorian had a specific measurement area. Also for something new in the middle of a pandemic with other stock items low, is there enough units in the country to cover 2000 odd competitors now the majority of clubs in the country are running them from this year rather than next.

I've used it at a few different Grass Kart events and it is a good system. I think it will be fine in contact classes. It is quite a small transponder - less than the size of a ciggie pack.
