what I don't understand is if we hit the 90% vaccinated target why any restrictions? Hit 90% then lift all restrictions and get on with life. We can not go on forever at Level 2 or even level 1. It has to end sometime.

It has to end sometime. 90% is a bit ambitious, I would rather the Government set a date and told us that everything is opening on that date, including international borders, and it is up to the individual whether they get vaccinated or not before that date. Until then, I think we should head down the "No vaccine, No entry" road, it may encourage the procrastinators out there to get off their collective arses and get vaccinated.

She clearly admits after spending $120billion the elimination goal is not going to be archieved ,it is not possible Instead today she was with Phill B ,having sausage sizzles to imform the public that 3 waters is her next plan .. An option plan is going to have traffic lights at the borders green for go orange for caution ,and red to vote for labour ,they hope to be in by christmas .. It sounds good for speedway especially in the south Island ,and where the sun rises at Gisborne ,but there will be some long faces still in jaffa town ,the only compromise will a teddy bears picnic for a few mates on here

mid week they stated that 85% of Auckland had had their first dose, so that is getting close That final 5%-10% will be extremely difficult though, as essentially anybody that was keen on getting the jab would have already got at least their first by now. There's still a few dribbling in though. Barry B

Because kids can't get immunized against it using the vaccine so they would be like sitting ducks if we lift all restrictions and let it spread.

Yes. Now with the season upon us yes it should. However I have an idea. Each regional title should be worth points. Depending on class. Stockcars 30, saloons 20 and so on for full field numbers. Person with the highest amount of points for 2021 2022 becomes new zealand champion. Well it's just an idea to. Maybe should be encouraging traveling. Seasons a right off. See you all in 2022. Maybe.

Your idea has merit for deciding who wins SNZ awards in competitor categories but there is no way we should be running New Zealand titles using such an artificial format in which the best drivers may never meet each other on the track. Not to mention the lack of spectator engagement and economic loss for tracks not holding NZ Title meetings.

With now under 6 weeks until the Stockcar GP at KihiKihi, at what point do they need to make the call?

With the new traffic light system red light no racing and we haven't even got to that yet, orange light we might be able to see some racing like level two but you will need the two jabs by the sound of it if you want to get into a track especially in Auckland and Huntly,oh well least you can watch the V8 supercars on TV through November lol

There is distinct possibility be no allocated snz titles for month of December, especially in around Auckland area. given that proposed settings wont even take place until end of November, 4 weeks from now. far any racing goes seeing those covid numbers just spiralling.. likelihood of those meetings being scrapped, given how packed these meetings are normally. i can see western springs speedway loosing close to 6 meetings even more. depending on 90% fully vaccinated.. along with proof of vaccine certificate could be rolled out when ? anyones guess.

I have removed a couple of posts that were completely off topic with regards what is going to be happening with our most popular meetings this summer. It seems some decisions could be made soon, although I'm sure whatever decisions are made there will be disappointments for some/many/most/all.

I can’t run this season due medical but have heard there are supply and operational issues for the new transponders. Lucky for me it will be sorted out by next season but can anyone else shed light? If a shortage of transponders and the local track has changed its loop then the track might find it hard to get numbers outside of covid issues anyway.

Drop the big SNZ titles and run for fun this season with local and private promotions. Travel and moving around is going to be very hard.

Drop the big SNZ titles and run for fun this season with local and private promotions. Travel and moving around is going to be very hard. SNZ have hinted at this saying that it is unfair to hold a national title with some regions restricted on movement. Things could get much worse re all things covid. To think things will snap back to normal in such a hurry as to accomadate this seasons national/regional titles is rather fanciful. Even the podium of truth is not looking any further than week to week.

Sadly this decision is becoming more straightforward by the day.
Without a cognisant plan to allow free travel throughout the country for the summer it's hard to see how tracks can confidently plan allocated titles or how drivers can put together a build up or title plan.
Postponing all allocated titles to 2022/23 season appears the prudent decision.
