Had the pleasure of catching up with Don in Raglan a couple of years ago. Even thou he was unwell at the time, Don was still positive on life and passionate about speedway. Took great pleasure that the Galletly name was still active in speedway. In his competitive years if a mishap happened to his car ,car on the trailer, on with the Don hat and out came the deck chair and just as happy watching as competing . True ambassador of the sport . R.I.P.

Sad to hear. "Poppa" Don was a true blue speedway icon and did it his way, which I always respected. It was a shame he couldn't race for longer. I always found him to be a true gentleman and supportive when I was looking after the Saloons/Super Saloons. RIP Poppa Don & condolences to the Galletly family. Gone but never forgotten. 25H 🥰
