Hey guys new comer here. This question I’m guessing will vary a lot but wanting to know annual cost to compete in midget class(good year and bad year). From car to general repairs to crew etc. Really interested with the idea of moving onto saloons as the years go by. Initially just a basic reliable car. Any info would be magic. Cheers

Midgets- sprintcars is more normal but in my opinion they are both an equal as the pinnacle of open wheel racing

Maybe a yarn to some drivers after an event might be the go. I’d love to race sprints but at this stage can’t see being able to fund them but thought Midgets and saloons could be in reach. Any info appreciated Cheers

By the time you've refreshed a motor budget on 40 grand. Some guys make it work for less, some spend more.

Saloons alot cheaper than midgets in my experience, motor cost cheaper (not by alot if out work entirely), less tyres and generally less damage, wheels and shocks cheaper, almost everything cheaper. I have done a few seasons in saloons and spent under 10k for a year and thats running near the front and doing 15-20 meetings in a season, I doubt you could do that in a midget, f2 possibly

Sprintcars are cheaper to run over a season than a midget (unless replacing wings a lot), less engine upkeep the main thing.

Thanks turnright awesome info Hey turnright, is that throughout the season not including off season rehauls or total? Cheers Na that's just to run for the season, fuel tyres and bit of wear and tear. I did my own engine and 355 chevs are cheap to maintain once built, if outsourcing prob be a 5k every 2 season freshen and maybe a major freshen every 4 or 5 seasons of 10k, depends what you get and how hard on things you are.
