Devastating night Spare a thought for the other driver involved in the incident as well, he now will be replaying the crash in his head and going through the what if’s for the foreseeable future Heartbreaking to think of how much can change for multiple families minutes after strapping that helmet on The other driver involved was in front of the driver that has lost his life, it wasn't like it was a driver wound off the end, just really really bad luck and obviously angle of the dangle that has had such crap consequences Don’t want to say that’s good news, but not having seen the incident it is good that it wasn’t a big take in

I don't want to say it but I will. Very sad and upsetting. Heart feels for all involved. Especially the other driver.

A tragic end to what was supposed to a fun weekend of teams racing. Condolences to his family, team mates, friends, fellow competitors and anyone who knew him. RIP.

Devastating night Spare a thought for the other driver involved in the incident as well, he now will be replaying the crash in his head and going through the what if’s for the foreseeable future Heartbreaking to think of how much can change for multiple families minutes after strapping that helmet on Indeed; spare a thought for Randy T, who is one of the nicest guys in speedway. He had lots of people with him in the pits last night, including his former Hawkeyes teammates. Even though there was nothing he could have done differently, he will carry this. Spare a thought too for the infield officials and first aiders, some of whom have been profoundly affected by what happened last night. But most importantly, spare plenty of thoughts for Stephen's family and many friends in the speedway community, who have suffered a profound and sudden loss. So many lives have been changed by a moment in time when a young man's passion for Superstock racing went tragically wrong. I'm sure there will also be an opportunity to support the family financially at some point. I feel numb this morning, and I know many feel likewise. I didn't know Stephen well, but had chatted to him a few times when he raced at Wanganui. Everyone will deal with what happened last night in different ways, but the most important thing is to know that there is no right or wrong way of reacting. The most important thing is to reach out to someone you know/trust if you're not coping. The speedway fraternity will come together, but it's easy for individuals to slip through the cracks. Asking for help or support ISN'T a sign of weakness. Rest peacefully Stephen. UPDATE: A Give A Little page has been set up to help support Stephen's wife and children in the days, weeks and months ahead. Please consider supporting the family in this way. givealittle.co.nz/cause/support-for-the-penn-family?fbclid=IwAR2xGXlmHvsnzDnYJTEQwCoo5WpGGaCJNPbFybJc0Bup194Mm-pn3gpqae0
