Kihikihi had 10 baypark and 3 kihikihi Super Saloons turn up, none from Auckland 2 were going to go, but one had a wife due to give birth today and the other came down with Covid. Was a shame as we did change our Champs date to try and support Kihikihi.

Since this is an AKL champs, no one day licesnses are permitted. If anyone wants to spionsor him to run then let him know. Would be good to see his new engine out on the track.

Rules are rules but given a thought to how the season for most competitors due to covid ,has affected there class this season ,one may of welcomed as many competitors as possible ,. Especially wacky park where the numbers in the super salon class are pretty dismal .

Yip rules are rules and lots of us have had to pay full licence fees for just a handful of meetings so relaxing the rules for others would not be fair to us that payed the money. Here's hoping next season is back to some sort of normal

Here's hoping next season is back to some sort of normal Agree rules are rules, but for Auckland competitors they were in lockdown for much longer than any other region, border control put stop to travel outside of region to attend meetings plus traffic light system was in harsher setting for Auckland with limitation on attendance no's for meetings that were allowed to go ahead. As the season is all but dusted to race 1 meeting will cost $300 + for SNZ and club fees plus new transponder hence why some of the cars attending CTRA meetings to get a run. Auckland drivers not asking for dispensation just pointing out how much it costing to attend maybe 1 meeting due to it being deemed a championship title. This could be any region in the future should another pandemic or whatever strike.

M6-5-4 A one-day license cannot be issued to a driver to take part in an Allocated title or other championship event
Championship being the key word......

I clarified it with the steward. I read championship event as national championship - not local "champs". But the rule is set by SNZ. Here's hoping a driver makes a submission to clarify this rule in the future. Admittedly it is good to stop someone coming in for 1 event a year and causing carnage.

I agree no-one wants a loose canon in the field. There are lots of rules that seem to contradict each other, rule "M6-5-1 A one-day licence can only be utilised with the approval of the Promotion" may have opened the door, but, you also have to take into consideration the competitors who comply with the rules.

Algood you want as many cars turning up each week as possible. I would look at things in 5byear blocks. How many races they been to. What's there racing history. If you see clear 1 night for a champ over 5 years go ahead. But looking at there historical background. I feel more needs to be done in regard to minimum meetings. I disagree strongly and how many people are walked away from the sport because of hard line rulings that are not necessary?

Sorry...I meant the rule in relation to SNZ championships...not local champs. I wish Shane could compete this week - hence my reaching out to see if someone wanted to sponsor him.

I think this is more about competitors not having a full competition licence rather than minimum meetings, same thing happened at the Auckland Solo champs that got remained not to be called a championship, otherwise the riders with day licences would not have been able to compete,
if your racing a super saloon, the $300 for the licence is probably one of the cheapest bill you will pay all year, but especially with Auckland based competitors they may have deiced it was too much for the couple of meetings they would have run, their call,
