Interesting that he really dislikes the budget racers of the sport stirring things up and damaging the bigger $ cars.
I read this post the other day and it just doesnt sit well with me and decided that although its probarly not even worth the reply, i will give it some time.
I have listened to this interview and not once did I hear the word budget. Infact earlier in the interview Asher made it very clear and stated that "You can win races in lesser gear but having good gear helps". He also said that "its people in $10,000 sh__ters that can cost you the chance to win an event and it doesnt matter whether you are a Rees, a Robb or even Liam Squire.
I dont care who you are.. everyone races to a budget. Even the Ree's! Its just some people have bigger budgets than others. I was talking to Peter Rees a few months back and this very topic was a discussion we had. He said that he has no choice but to race to a budget, but he works harder and smarter to have more of a budget for speedway. He stated that he would rather not put an extra block of cheese into his fridge so that the money he would of spent on that could be used for spare parts. That my friend is called sacrafice to have a bigger budget!
On a personal level, the sacrafices Ive made to make sure The Pits Media is successful is mind boggling. I dont have flash cars and I have a house that needs some work on it, but have chosen to invest that money into the business. My competition seem to think that we are the big boys with big budgets which is so far from the truth. If you passionate about something, you do everything in your power to make it work and that certainly means sacrafice!
It amazes me how people only hear what they want to hear and interpret things that were never intended to be in the way that they have. I thought Asher's interview was good, informative and respectful and I really appreciate the time he took out to front up to do it.
