Was always my favourite car when Auckland used to invade Meeanee way back when during the days of Meeanee's Easter Meetings always being the last ones held in NZ each season?

I've had a few over the years. The first one that really attracted my attention was Peter's Howarth's EH (I think it was) Holden at Waikaraka Park the night it debuted. Looking like it had just been driven off the sales lot, competing against what the memory now tells me looked more like a bunch of Streetstocks (which didn't even exist at the time).

I don't have access to my photos, but I always liked the Brian Musgrove 1W Kuriger Superstock in "the year of the stepped wing" (1987/88?)

Barry B I remember when that turned up at the first teams nationals at Waikaraka,was a beast alright,35b Ian Glenny also raced it till Ricky Mitchell ended Ians racing career with a big hit at the Teams champs at Palmy in 1995.

Heres my top 3 Modifieds.Murray Stead,Glen Free & Alan Brand.Not many good photos of Glens car around. Used to work with Alan Brand few yrs ago, just casually chatting bout speedway oneday and he just says , yeah used to race modified sportmans.. didn't tell me he was a nz champion lol Very humble bloke

I remember when 53v Bob Smith turned up at Baypark at the NZ title in 1986,car was brand new and he got 3rd in the championship by memory ๐
