32 cars to date, with a couple of cars requiring a fair bit of work after their tangle at Huntly last Saturday night. 37a and 78s from memory.
21s was entered last Saturday night too, but did not front. Not entered for the NZ's currently either.

Next time you cruise down Highway 3 from bellblock end ,call in to the motel complex for coffee ,Mrs PIERCE may give you an update ,or brake and clutch in devon st ,dont blame me if you get lost as retirement has no meaning ,but old does just a little ..

You'll get no joy at Brake & Clutch, Bunter sold the business. He was planning on bringing the car out in the new year but then he went and broke his arm.

Hope old Naki reads it and doesnt blame me ,hes blind like a bat I see Gary Parker rego to Huntly he had an A on his wobbily once ,they say its hard to get on with the rep these days so a friend told me Is that Allan Haigh who raced at the park with his brother back in the good old days with Philip Game ,Ricky Martin ,Roger Bertram ,and Mr Crash ,he came from Huntly never went home with anything straight on his car .. JACKSON will be hard to beat if he is on form and poor old FOXY gosh he has served his club well ,should be a life member by now if he already isnt ...

Didn't get on with the rep at Waikaraka eh.........he wouldn't be the only one. Heard he can be moody and VERY anti-social.
Yep, the same Alan Haigh. Got a 1NZ on his car when racing out of Auckland a few years ago but has been living and racing in Christchurch for a while now.
And no surprises, Foxy is a Life Member of the ASSCC.

Not much interest shown on here from the mass of moaners ,is modifieds a class of non interest Its good to have mutual interests although we have been labelled with being one eyed springs fans and over the years ive met some great people from this class . Tony Gilbraith was the bloke i called MR CRASH ,boy he did some damage at times but give him his dues he was also a good competitor .. Mr Gorge liked his racing like Newton ,but i see he has not entered ,Larry Taylor built many race engines ,but tours around in his bus like Simbo ..

A few of the stalwarts not there. No Brian McPhee as well. But plenty of newer drivers filling the gaps they leave. I have not made it to the last couple of NZ titles and there are about 8 on the list that I haven't seen race.

Newton Gordge’s name has been added to the competitors entry list on the Huntly Web site Pity no Ulenbergs in this class heard theyre good at attacking :)Stratford could have the podium to themselves ,maybe there is a off chance it could happen with the competitors as it is ...

Will go Friday night and then will have to decide about Sat or The Sprintcar Masters at Wacky Park. A lot depends on if they post the entries for the sprintcars and midgets

I think it'll be a Brad Lane vs Luke Brown showdown, but if trouble strikes either of those two there are plenty of others to pick up the pieces.
What happened to Luke Keegan? I thought he was returning to Modifieds? Too talented to be sitting on the sidelines....

I thought he was returning to Modifieds? Too talented to be sitting on the sidelines.... Barry B Pulled infield during the CTRA SI Modifieds at Ellesmere on 15 January and hasn't been seen since. The car looks stunning, and I think I'm right in saying the last chassis ever built with input from the late but forever great John Lovelady. I agree with your picks Barry. The other one I always keep an eye on at big titles in 71S John Jackson, when he pins those ears back and goes for it he is unstoppable. One of those drivers that can find another level for big events. 3NZC and 17W in very good form this season too. For different reasons I'll be keeping an eye on 13C Evan Nicol. He came to Modified racing quite late in life, but from the few interviews I've seen with him he seems to be having so much fun. This will be his first ever North Island appearance as far as I know, so its very cool he is finally ticking that off after many years focussing on the Woodford Glen.

Gives me a bit of info for the commentary from down south. I haven't really seen the Mods run in any great numbers since the NZ Champs at WG two years ago. I think John Jackson would be my pick for third. He can certainly drive. The 3nzc impressed me greatly on my last visit south in 2021, but track knowledge will help 119h and 1nza greatly I think. Should be a great show. A 30 lap final sounds brutal to me. Barry B
