i grew up in rotorua..around stock cars my whole child and teens,knew the hunters well,my step dad crewed for bryan stanaway,87r.clint watkins 7r,dick broad 61r and then red jones also 61r until he purchased the ex perry kyte 2h and steve mccaferty 2g car.we raced as 58r,i remember darcy snr raceing 37r in the late 70s.he was a man that people walked around and didnt look bak over the shoulder.think i recall a punch up or two as well,lol,the good old days in the pits at the valley,barry hunter would av to be the god father of the valley in my books anyway,thats why it took him so long to bag the big titles,the rest of nz knew they had a chance if the 38r car was stopped.for sure.and like typical maoris they brang the whole whanau (family) with them into this sort..like the church family in rodeo the hunters ruled the stock car roost,ko tahi aroha hunter whanau,respect to yous,

what an awesome stocky family the hunters have done it all my stockcar memory's for some reason are of the 1990-1995 rotorua rebels vs the bay park busters allways epic battles
