That's Craig Taylor.....raced the #3 Tank for part of the 91/92 season before the throttle locked on and he broke his leg

Geez there are some eagle eyes out there ! I have never noticed that before, i just checked the Miers Tank, he has the same problem, but the Wade Tank has strected the body over theres.

Its just that some officials choose to enforce the rule then it could be a problem - not that it should be. Having the cage inside the body may have been useful in days gone past with steel bodies, but nowdays with fibre bodies they offer no protection to the cage so does it really matter - I would say no.
Joel Pitchers tri-rail was a good example, when it came out a similar bar extended outside the body line and the body had to be modified to cover it. I know of a few others who have been picked up at Palmy.
One thing for sure the 299 tank is a very sexy beast

One thing for sure the 299 tank is a very sexy beast They had a dig at our car about that at the teams, quite stupid really when a 3mm thick piece of fibreglass isnt going to stop anything from going into the cage.Not to mention the transponder location issue But thats drifting way off topic.... as you were ;D

We mounted our transponder over one of the lightening holes in the engine bay, to get it closer to the front.
