would like any info on 2 cars made from steel from a meetworks for the meet chain in hastings i think one car ended up in huntly as 54h ont sure how has it now when it left hastings it had a hemmie in it and a morris diff

I was told by a man from Gisborne that he wired up 54h for a Mr Robinson who made it for his son in early 90s cutting upstrips of bislory steel and making box section out of it The car then had a hemie motor an morris commercial diff The car at the moment is owned by Sam an Mark Caldwell in Morrinsville an running as 36H with a E A Falcon H Q box Mazda diff coil overs all round an still has the same coffin. The Caldwells brought the car off John Mulder who ran it as 54H John brought the car from someone in Hastings ? Who ?

I think it was number 21b from memory, the name maybe Dion Lowe or even Nigel Cooper, they were both number 21b around that time.

This is the wrong car in the photo. Dion and Merv Lowe and Paul Demanser built this car and Dion's association with the car effectively came to a end when he blew the motor at Stratford. The car that is being talked about had a blue and white body that was done in a wavey design. Photo to follow when Dion finds it.

The dark blue body was the 1st year that Dion had the car. The next year it had a major rebuild in the off season. Basically all that was left were the main chassis runners and roll cage. Diff was changed to a Morris Commercial, a new torsion bar set up was put on to the chassis, new steering, new front, new seat, etc, etc and the final outcome as in the photo's of the white and blue car.

Here is a photo of a 54H stockcar taken about 5 years ago at Huntly. Any chance this is the car that was originally asked about?

Could be wrong of course, but my hunch tells me that's Spaceframe #1. Anyone know where it is now??

Maybe wrong,but I always thought that the car Dion Lowe(21) bought was the Hi_tensile spaceframe built by Ted Rogers(Farm Tools) here in Gisborne for his son Stephen Rogers,which looks like the pic of the white an blue car on the previous page.but where it went from Hawkesbay I dont know
