That photo doesnt really line up with any Jack Jack Gurneys Ive seen but does look quite like the Doug Holmes Coupe bodied deal from palmy in the late 90's(was 65b/p??) Ian's Gurney was living in Wellington and a complete history was done earlier in MIA before everything disapeered. The Wellington car had a 'sister' built down there and had a EA in it???. I could be wrong about all this but I studied the Gurney car for years and that one just doesnt seem to fit the picture in my fuzzy grey matter!!

This is the Ian easton car. Probably the only original parts left would be the chassis rails and rollcage. I had the steel body made for it when i had it.

Jack Jack - now there is a speedway legend!
I remember the night at Palmerston North, many years ago, when Dennis Davies got Jack Jack to drive his Valiant saloon to get the handling sorted out. Halfway through the race the steering wheel fell off, and Easton finished the race by gripping the bolt at the top of the steering column and turning that - with no noticeable drop-off in speed - amazing!!

Surely I am not the only one that thinks the wing on the 11V looks better than the wing on 57B. I own one of the copies of Ian Easton's coupe and I would really like to put a wing like he had on my car.
I really can't see how they can be dangerous and would like to see the rule changed so that something else rather than small straight sailboards/fins and small wings can be put onto stockcars.
I don't mean going back to the 80's when sprintcar wings were on them but something slightly larger than the roof line and taller than presently allowed.
What do you reckon?
signed Pinball - (advocate for larger wings)

Good call Pinball ! There should be some decent scope with what can be used as a wing, not the 80's style, they were just a tad over the top.... but a decent looking stepped wing looks cool .

The current wings on stockcars are nearly a waist of time. They need to be at least 1/2 size bigger again to have any effect on a 1500 kg racecar at 100 kph. Jack Jack= Real Racecar Driver.

I had an enquiry from Ian about his first-ever stockcar from the 60's.
I told him I had a photo of it which I have kept in a drawer for 5 years, which he could have...but he never came & got it..
..Now I am not sure how you attach it on this board . I have it as a JPEG. Can someone enlighten me how to attach it here.
It sure is a bit of history.. I took this photo in 1972 at PN
Cheers
