AJ emailed these three photos from his collection to post. Hopefully more will follow. Eastern States 80's. Who are these drivers? Terry Brown, early 80's: 92C Gerald Griffiths at Woodford Glen or ?

Terry Brown is correct in his Tank copy, approx 1982-83 or so. Definitley Mr Griff at the Glen by the look of the background fence.Eddie Hurst built flatty. The 3e leaves me cold.Maybe Keith Ferguson??but the size of the driver is too big to be Keith so its???............................ The 9e is Doug Lane in his very bad "copy" of the Gurney Eagle coupe in the background.Would say that photo is from about 1982-83??

awesome shots - thanks for this. As a north islander by birth, i would be interested in seeing any other shots of old south island stockcars and tracks others may have. Especially of the so called legends we here about from days gone by. Grubby Griffiths anyone? Can;t recall seeing one single pic of him thanks in advance to any with one...or better yet two! Thanks AJ and Pall Mall for the thread. cheers

Here are a couple of Gerald Griffiths that I am sure have been on another thread at some time. I do have some more, one of his Fiat bodied car and some from the Stockcar Scramble days, but I can't find them right at the moment. Now this guy was apparently a legend of the South Canterbury stockcar scrambles, 'Bad Boy Beachy'. And this guy IS a South Island legend, Smokin Joe Annan, here with his stockie from around 1963 which would have raced at the new Templeton track.

Just a question.. Does anyone know if Black 92c originally came from Palmerston North? Looking for the builder... I think I have an identical one. Apparently two cars made... Cheers '

Should be able to help a little there. Gerald Griffiths owned/raced the 92c car, Lovelady racecars made a shorter copy (Some sources told me two copies were made), which was then owned by Terry Hall, Nato, couple of others and then myself - by this stage it had been repowered by Falcon 6 rather than Chev V8. I bought this chassis unfortunately the same time as when the updated Rollcage rule came in - combined with the rear end needing rebuilt (both chassis and diff work) and unusable firewall I ended up scrapping the chassis. Have a look in my build thread and you will see the "Lovelady" car. macgor.proboards.com/thread/26348/stockcar-build
