one chassis not listed is the sister car to Bevan Phillips. Was raced out of Huntly I think the guys name was Steve Halse.

Has there been any mention of the Kuriger chassis that appeared in Auckland I'd say around the mid 1980's? Maybe 1985? Raced as 14a possibly? Graeme Jackson may have been his name? I seem to recall being told once that may have been about #3 build? (Although not number 3 to raceI believe it was built some time before it actually raced? Sorry, memory is vague, but I remember the car well from my days as a casual spectator before getting involved as a photographer. I'd have a pic of it somewhere, but I have no idea where right now.

Hi Barry
yes the 14a Kuriger owned by Graeme Jackson was around 84/85 probably #3 and was mostly raced by Ross Willets, both myself and brother Wayne crewed for him. Graeme had the car back in '86 and raced most of that year when Wayne and I raced, myself as 12a and Wayne as 35a.
you will find a photo in the a-grade 14a post, sorry I don't know how to get it over.
cheers
Kevin Jamieson

From memory the 1st spaceframe car in Auckland, bit of a curiosity when it first appeared. Looked strange compared to the norm and sounded like it had no grunt. Didn't stop it going quick though. Where did it get to? does it survive?

Thanks guys, that's the one. I seem to recall tracking down a phone number for Graeme back in Wanganui some years ago, but I never got around to phoning him to ask about the car and if he knew its whereabouts today. I wonder if he's around, let alone the car. Probably the least well known of all the early Kuriger's, other than in the memories of a few old Aucklanders.

do you think this is th No3 Russell Joblin car No. It was very different looking to Russell's car I thought. It was suggested earlier in this thread the Graeme Jackson car may have been Kuriger build #4. It definitely looked more like the two Tippet cars (builds #1 and #2) than the Russell Joblin (build #3) one though. Was definitely the first space frame in Auckland, and as such I remember it being ganged up on n the early days. There was a pic of the car at Baypark from the 1986 NZ Champs - where Joblin won, proving it was a different car - but that has now unfortunately disappeared along with so many others from this thread.
