Regan and Jay Ummmm nothing against the guys but can think of a few more that are just as deserving to be invited there if not more so. And please Regan and Jay this is not anything against you both so please don't take it as such.

How come the NZ team champs winners arnt invited, just a thought thats a NZ title. Now Im starting to sound like a stuck record LOL So you bring in 4 other cars but you leave 3 cars from the winning NZ teams champs out. Can't figure that one.

And without knowing who selects whom (independent panel), there are quite easily a dozen or more extremely worthy candidates for those 4 spots who would have performed at championship meetings on any given season. Four is a very small number from a class of hundreds......... I guess the bottom line is that whoever is invited it will not please everybody. The great thing about the format though is, there are still 7 spots up for grabs from qualifying, 6 for the top points scorers and 1 wildcard entry. How many cars will be after one of those 7 spaces? Even qualifying will have to be much more than just points accumulation for those wanting to progress.

I think the fact they have invited hit men rather than flag races shows forethought on the part of the promotion. Jay and Regan both stir things up very effectively as do the other 2 at times. The flag races may well qualify anyway, give the stirrers a finals berth shows to me that once again Rotorua has thought of the paying public. Well done with the selections I say, should be a great spectacle.

Melchick has a point, I know everyone pushes the barrow for their own track drivers etc but someone like 46w has turned it on time after time in champ meets. I can think of a few heat 2 & 3's over the years where he has been a deciding factor in the results.
I know ya cant have everyone but I'd like to think he was considered

Possibly the fact he had such a shocking run this year at both the NI's and the NZ's may have counted against him, not being as noticed, dunno really. Let's hope he still makes the trip and takes on of the available 7 berths......... I note the invited 4 are from 4 different tracks too, 2 of which had no representation in the entry prior to that, so you can't get too much fairer than that.

One of which was Palmerston North which is quite surprising. Just shows it really hasn't been their year on the national stage in the Stockcar class. Looks like a good lineup to me. And the four invited cars seem deserving to me. Vallance has livened up plenty of nights at Rotorua this season, and is developing a knack of running and stirring at the same time, quite Woottonesque really. Rees is fairly obvious. O'Brien has been stirring regularly at Hawkes Bay and I would suspect his efforts on Night 2 of the NZ's didn't go unnoticed either. And lastly Knight may now get the chance to do what he *almost* did at the NZ's and take out Rees.

The lucky 4 invited New Zealand drivers (by independent panel) Peter Rees 11P, Nick Vallance 45R, Regan O'Brien 52B and Jay Knight 510S -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So just as a matter of interest then, who do macgorians think the 4 invites to the World of Stocks SHOULD be? ??

MY OPINION The 4 drivers they have picked. Full stop Reason = The panel have picked other drivers from tracks that 1, either only have 1 driver from or/and 2, are not represented as for 46w(nothing against him, hes a top driver and shows it on track) but why would you put [glow=red,2,300]4[/glow] top welly drivers in. As for 45r prob of the amount of mayhem he caused on the second nite of the nz champs at straty! 510s i guess due to the guy is fast and can also cause alot of mayhem when he wants to, and 11p and 52b well the bay and palmy has to be represented with someone and rees & regan would be the one i would put there to and theres 2 drivers could end up making the final choice on who the winner could be? both dont have a club mate in so ............................. I drivers that do it the hard way and go through from quailfing deserve to be in!! and the wild card entry well i think we need a representive for K, A, H or the mount dont you think? ??

Lets hope the 4 stick together and not beat each other to a standstill. So with the above in mind, sorry Ramjam & Melchick but I would rather see Allen on the podium, the top step. The guy has done so much for clubmates over the years it’s about time the man got the winners trophy. He busted his butt to qualify the flat chassis for years and then come finals night he was always the one doing the blocking or hitting for others. I have no doubt that Allen enjoys that aspect of racing but in fairness to him his time is now for a title or two. If Allen qualifies for the World of Stocks finals I, and a few others, would really like to see 46W on the top spot of the podium, a deserving result for a true stockcar driver.

Could not have said it better myself, I have a feeling though that if Al had the choice, three good solid races to win a title with nigh a hand laid on him, Or removing the top 3 chances so that one of his track mates who was running 4th or 5th going into heat 3 can win, he would take the later of the two. Anyway SWP if you think he's good now........... You should have seen him before you realised Stockcars exist south of Taupo!!! ;D ;D

Can Confirm that Darren Gray has confirmed that he will be racing at the World of Stocks, will put up all entries and final list after Easter on the Rotorua Website. What a great field we have so far. I, personally am really looking forward to this meeting.
