That should get some attention - sounds like a huge action packed night. The Rotorua website description sounds like it was phenomenal action - I'm here in Chch still in the "withdrawal stage" heading for "detox from Paradise Valley" Where are you guys tell me more from last night! Ngahi, Teams Junkie, Mak 1, anybody ........ What's your personal thoughts from last nights racing, how did it compare to last years? what do you expect for tonight? What was the crowd numbers? ;D ;D

I thought the racing was great, not sure how it compared to last year though. Lots of hitting and crashing throughout most of the races. 84b put some good hits on a number of cars esp 99r who took a hard hit into the wall. At some stages there were 4-5 cars circulating waiting to block. Action often continued past the chequered flag. Good to see a number of tracks represented. 99gm looked good in the practise laps, good speed and handled track well. Not a huge crowd turnout but probably due to the early start on Friday night. Looks all set for a good nights racing tonight Bound to be as much action in the consolation as there will be in the finals.

If the racing next year improves as much as over the last two the World 240's in danger of loosing its crown as best meeting of the year.

I think the second tier outshone the main event ever so slightly again this year, although the Mike Mac vs Dale Robertson battle was awesome to follow. That run-off for third wasn't too bad either.
With two of the invited "stirrers" placing on the podium there wasn't quite as much action as most would have hoped for, but it was still extremely competitive.
With Peter Rees (and Scott Fredrickson also) seeded straight into next year's Finals, it opens up the potential invite list a little more for 2009. Who will be the wildcard next year? Can't see Mike Mac getting it.......I'm sure he'll be first invite next year after this weekend's efforts.
And Ricky Kuru winning best stirrer in the Stocks in Paradise too. Way to go the HB boys...........

Thanks for all the positives. I guess I've been doing this for awhile now and meetings come and go and occasionally there's one that really Spins my Wheels and this was one of them.
Thanks to all the boys that put on such a tremendous show it was more like a Butcher's Picnic at times than a Stockcar Meeting.
Roll on around next year.

That would have to rate as one of the top meetings this year. I will always remember it as it was my first chance to race (demo) and I absolutly loved it!! Cant wait for next year, well done Shonja and her team for two great nights of entertainment. Now to find a standard for next season...... ;D ;D

hey tiroto i didnt make it up for the first night but man the 2nd night was awesome however i was disapointed that it appeared most were to scared to hit peter rees, but still well done to him for winning. lots of hitting and crashing about all you can ask for for a great meeting. especially when 2 cars rolled over 1 after the other
