racing started at 6pm and 24 races later i left
at 1130pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i can understand the watering of the track but the endless packing laps done by 5 A grades and crap loads of productions!
lets hope tonight runs a bit smother
i was sitting beside 2 people from Auckland and apart from there amazement that it was still day light at 10pm they couldn't be leave how slowly the meeting was run!

Must of been some good racing with all the top drivers there, what was the track condition like in heat 2 -3 etc. Was there some 2 wide passing out wide or was in slick & mostly poll line racing, what was the standard of driving like, who really impressed, who didn't, someone on another thread said they were glad they didn't go! It can't of been that bad surely. If I was in the area I would of of gone to both nights for sure, come on you guys what were the good bits about the meeting apart a few protests...

i thought the track held up very very well, prob with a bit of luck with the tides and the fog rolling in cooling things down, but absolutely awsome racing, side by side on the edge, only real carnage was the last race, 19 stated 10 or 11 finshed, prob the biggest downside was the refs, but o well BRING ON CROMWELL 08/09
just have a few hundred more pics to upload and them will set up the links for you all to see

whoa slow down there.... i will stick up for the refs, they worked as quickly as they could, there are protacols that have to be followed and they were working their asses off to get it right, that is why so many titles go quite late.... a lot of detail to sort through and get right....

was more regarding to the first head, with the lap scorers, yes i know its hard ,esp with 2 cars looking the same, i know the refs work hard but if there was a week part to the title that was it,

you could look at it another way and there should have been something planned for the down time for after the 3rd heat, overall it was a terrific NZ title, esp the racing

do you have anything positive to say sidewinder I'm referring to the first night the second night was interesting and i understand that there may have been issues with lap scoring etc but it took 27 Min's to get the first race going there was a large "come on"and "why are we waiting" coming from the exit of turn 2 during this time, i was on the front strait and heard the cheer as the race started. i went to Auckland for the NZ mods last year and i thought that was a slow meeting but i recall that we left the track at 11pm on the first night (racing started at 730pm) and the second night was 1130 pm again it started at 730 pm and had 24 races but another 1 and a half hours to run the same number of races? i over heard people calling the racing boring ( i thought the supers were very good) and others were saying that it was the last time they were coming to speedway, even some people that came from Auckland left early due to long delays in getting the racing under way. it just seemed that there was no one running the meeting as it looked so disorganized. just my point and i know that there is others with the same opinion as me (a few other competitors from around the south island) well done josh and TC

marathon and super saloons go hand in hand with any type of championship they have.
Only a few years ago at the glen, might have left [glow=red,2,300]just[/glow] before midnight, but then could have actually been after. was a very late one anyway.
