A great venue to start the series. Will certainly clean any cobwebs out of the cars. First time at Gisborne on the 'banked track' for a few competitors - will be worth it just to see the look on their face when they poke their noses through the pit gate for the first time !!! You don't leave the track by doing a hard right ... ;D ;D These gizzy blokes know how to prepare a track ...

From that photo looks like their having trouble walking up it, wicked!! It must be one of the most banked tracks in the world. haven't seen many(dirt tracks) like that or at all that banked in the US or OZ, credit to them for coming up with something different....ps the photo of the pit gate looking DOWN at the track is impressive.

Just been out to the track ... The track itself is ALL GOOD and loking great for the 26th ... The BAR however ... ALL the bottles and crates (is we still have crate beer .. ;D) ended up all over the chiller .. ONLY lost approx 2doz ... Thank GOD the TUI Survived .. Half the arched brick work over the bar ended up on the floor and even made a hole in the floor ... THIS now gives us a excuse to update the look of the BAR .. haha .. GISBORNE AS A WHOLE ...Many retailers have been shaken ... Looks like upto 12 Building may have to come down (Many of the OLD ones) Also Ive heard that one or two of our "BRAND NEW" buildings also have major damage and "rumors have it" they too may be next with a buildoser ... IMPORTANT NOTICE ... Dont be scared off by any reports you hear on the news they have tended to "OVER REPORT" some of the suituation.. We are still attached to the MAIN LAND we still do have POWER and WATER ..
... and the BEST TRACK IN NEW ZEALAND !!!!
Have a VERY MERRY XMAS and well see you on the 26th ..Cheers
